The Trump administration has approved tens of thousands of temporary amnesties for illegal immigrant Dreamers, according to numbers released Thursday that underscore a major reversal for President Trump.
The decision has enraged the presidents conservative base, which hoped he would make good on his promise to revoke the policy, known in governmentspeak as DACA.
But immigrant rights advocates, who were harshly critical of Mr. Trump during the campaign, said he deserves some credit for defying his right wing and keeping the program intact.

I’m not enraged.

If Trump wants amnesty let him ask Congress to do it publicly, not behind the scenes.
Where is a primary source detailing Trumps decision on this?
Obama 'Dreamer' Shows Appreciation To President Trump For Reneging On His Canpaign Promise
That’s rather likely.
I watched almost all of Trump’s rallies. I never heard him say that he was going to deport the “dreamers”. In fact, I thought he was too easy on this group, saying things like....we will be kind.
From the source of this thread: “Instead, government attorneys told the judge Thursday that she may meet all the criteria for DACA yet still fall within enforcement priorities, The Associated Press reported.
“A ruling is expected next week.”
So it seems the President may be waiting for this ruling to decide how or if he will treat DACA.
That’s what I heard as well. Illegal immigration down 60-70 percent, gangs being deported, more judges pushing cases forward, wall in process of being built....WORKS FOR ME! MAGA!!
Words mean things.
Is this going to be published daily? The headline’s basic premise is obviously untrue, although obviously the base is concerned. But this is a blogger projecting his opinions onto 60 million voters. (The Washington Times newspaper is defunct.) I believe FReepers are interested in this sort of story (if it were actually a news story), but once is enough.
Me either.
USCIS report, see DACA renewals and newly approved 2017
"The Center for Immigration Studies recently released numbers gathered from the U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS). For the period of January through March, 107,524 DACA renewals were approved, along with 17,275 new applications submitted. Of those numbers, 78 percent of them were approved under the Trump administration."
I’m enraged. I’m affronted!
Enraged? Hell, l am not even surprised. Disappointing yes. It will gain Trump nothing.
And the immigration numbers on the TX border are exploding after dipping at the beginning of the year. Our TX Congressmen better clue the President in on the fact that TX is sick of being the entry point for MS-13, drug cartels and illegal alien trafficking, and he’d better stick to that campaign promise or he’s Texas toast.
DACA is not a law. President Trump does not need to wait for a judge. DACA was intended to be a giant middle finger to white America from an illegitimate leader. It is a proclamation not a law.
The Kenyan hates America and the real American people. He hates them for their rule of law, industriousness, work ethic, intelligence, and hard earned wealth—all the things his own people lack. Slapping America in the face with DACA was yet another way for bathhouse Barry to get his jollies.
Let daca recipients attend school at their expense. After graduating, back to homeland.
