MANCHESTER, England — Greater Manchester Police say they have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the apparent suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in the city.

Police say the man was arrested in south Manchester Tuesday, a day after the explosion killed 22 people and injured 59, many of them teenagers.

They did not provide details.

At last a serious misstep on the part of ISIS. In taking credit for the attack, they forgot the inevitable round up of known ISIS sympathizers by MI5 and Scotland Yard would happen instantly as soon as SOMEBODY took the credit. Since ISIS probably doesn't have a complete picture of just how many are in the UK database for them, in the sweep it's possible that some operations that are in motion for execution will be interdicted.

The bomber - named today as 22-year-old Salman Abedi - was known to authorities. He died at the scene and police carried out a controlled explosion at what is believed to be his home during raids around the city today.

Abedi is understood to have been born in Britain but is from a Libyan family. A school friend told MailOnline had grown a beard when he last saw him and neighbours claimed he had been ‘acting strangely’ recently.

A 23-year-old man, believed to be Abedi’s brother, was also arrested by anti-terror officers as police and security services attempt to work out if the suicide bomber was part of a cell.

Security sources have told MailOnline that initial analysis of the ‘sophisticated’ device suggests it was made by an expert.

Abedi is understood to have been born in Britain but is from a Libyan family.

And that's what people don't understand. The problem isn't necessarily the people who come from the other countries. I suspect many are grateful to the host country for allowing them to escape the hell-holes from whence they came. The problem is their offspring, who have no such appreciation, and isolate themselves from the host culture. Those are the ones who wind up being radicalized. And it's only going to get worse over time.

ISIS WARNS OF MORE ATTACKS

ISIS this morning claimed responsibility for the atrocity in a ranting statement that threatened further attacks on ‘worshippers of the Cross.

‘With Allah’s grace and support, a soldier of the Khilafah managed to place explosive devices in the midst of the gatherings of the Crusaders in the British city of Manchester,’ the statement said.

It added that the massacre was ‘revenge for Allah’s religion… in response to their transgressions against the lands of the Muslims.

‘The explosive devices were detonated in the shameless concert arena.

‘What comes next will be more severe on the worshipers of the Cross and their allies.’
