Lena Epstein, co-chairwoman of Donald Trump's Michigan campaign, has announced her candidacy for U.S. Senate.
If Epstein wins the Republican nomination in 2018, she would be up against U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, who first won her Senate seat in 2000 and won easy re-elections in 2006 and 2012.
Epstein is the first Republican to declare candidacy for the seat.
A 35-year-old Bloomfield Hills resident, Epstein is co-owner of Vesco Oil Co., a distributor of automotive and industrial lubricants. The company has more than 200 employees and annual revenues of $175 million, according to Epstein's personal website.
In a press release announcing her candidacy, Epstein says she supports Trump's "American First" policies.
"Michigan spoke loud and clear in the last election -- we want an outsider with business leadership skills who can inspire the people of Michigan with a bright vision for the future," Epstein added in the press release.
"I will speak for those who have not been spoken for. I will represent those who know, deep down, that their government has failed them and their families.

She’ll be a big improvement over the worthless yesman (or yeswoman in this case) who is there now. Chuck Schumer says “jump.” Stabenow says “How High?”
This is what needs to happen next. Get real Trump backers into the election and then elected. That is the only way the gope can be overcome to get Trump’s agenda moving in congress.

Yes it does. When she was nominated for that position here in MI I posted about it and didn't get much of a response. One of my gnomes on the campaign knows her and had the pleasure to interact with her and I heard nothing but high praise of her from my friend.
Notice this is women v women match up and I believe Stabenow is Jewish is well, however, Lena is much more attractive, and yes that counts. Note, IMHO this is a candidate that Ivanka, Jared, and President Trump would get behind and really work hard for to get rid of Stabenow.
Again illary only took Wastenaw County ( Home of the U of Mich, aka "Moscow on the Huron" ) by 854 votes, and IMHO Michigan is ripe for other victories, after President Trump winning here in 16'. With that said, Can Ms Epstein have voter appeal across a number of demographic groups to thwart Stabenow. One may hope.

I agree. A looker is good-the younger the better. Wouldn’t the Gov. have a better chance at winning? Those seats-once blown, are gone for 6 years. Ask the 600 who DIDN’T vote in NH.

Uh, Trump lost Washtenaw County by nearly 80,000 votes. It was Hitlery's best county in the state in terms of percent of vote she took (69.5% to Trump's 27.4%).
Stabenow may be nothing but a puppet for Chucky Schmucky and Michigan deserves better than that, but she starts out as the favorite for sure.
Actually 67.6% to 26.6%, still nearly 80,000 votes though. No Republican is winning in the precious snowflake land of Washtenaw unless a whole bunch of punkies suddenly grow a brain.
Combine that with Stabenow's obstruction of everything Trump has run on and promised us, she's going to be one of many Red State democrats losing their job in 2018........

No big deal, Washtenaw county and Ann Arbor are nothing but California in the North East........
Trump won 2,626 counties throughout the U.S. while Hillary only won 487............So much for that "popular vote" claim......

Stabenow's Methodist and originally from Gladwin before moving to Lansing. My folks and my friends still in North Michigan hear that spiel all the time when Debbie campaigns Up North.

As a recent Washtenaw County resident until July of last year, I wish that was true, but Hillary massacred Trump there by 78,000 votes.
