Good point - thank you.
This Alexander Stephens crap is taught in common core these days. No, he was not mentioned, much less part of any history book I ever had in Hampton, VA through 1965. We still had segregated schools there in 65 and 66 was also segregated as I liked a girl in that class. Now, this Lee High is known to me as both my sisters are retired teachers in Huntsville, AL. I did not care for that city as it is Air Defense Arty types and civilian engineers working on Redstone Arsenal. Add air defense contract types also. I was there a few years as after the Army I went there to see my parents as my mother was very ill. My father retired there after 30 years and 3 wars. I would not live in Seattle. My MD here left Seattle years back. It was too liberal for him. The man who stated he was a historian posted fact as I learned it also.
An excellent article on the topic of slavery in Missouri, St Louis in particular:

Should be read by everyone on this thread.
I’m not insulted. :-)
I believe they'll change our name to River City.
It’s unbelievable how far and fast our country has gone downhill....
all according to plan ... while the sheeple watch the game and dancing with the starts ...
Do you think there is a limit as to how far conservatives will allow this to go, or do you believe it’s over????
I don't know.
My guess is that most of us are individualist, not collectivists, which might put us at a disadvantage against an organized effort.
That’s exactly the thought that I have posted earlier in different threads in here today...
