President Trump gives masterful speech (msm does not carry it)
American Thinker ^ | May 22, 2017 | . Marsolo

It was refreshing to see President Trump speak to the leaders of the Muslim countries in Riyadh honestly and directly about the problems of Islamist terrorism. He told them in plain words that they have to drive out the terrorists from their mosques and countries. He reminded them that terrorists, such as ISIS, kill more Muslims than others.

President Trump spoke bluntly. The Muslim countries must take care of the terrorists:

“It is a choice between two futures -- and it is a choice America CANNOT make for you.
A better future is only possible if your nations drive out the terrorists and extremists. Drive them out.

DRIVE THEM OUT of your places of worship.
DRIVE THEM OUT of your communities.
DRIVE THEM OUT of your holy land, and
DRIVE THEM OUT OF THIS EARTH.”

SNIP

It was a proud day to see an American president acting the way an American president should.

Meanwhile, the mainstream media wing of the Opposition Party did not carry the speech. ABC had its usual Sunday show interviewing Democrat Elijah Cummings, CBS has Democrat Senator Diane Feinstein worrying about Trump’s use of Twitter, and NBC carried a soccer game. All three were probably on high alert, though, in case Comey’s friends released another Comey memo.

It was a great speech, and the agreement reached with the Arab states is momentous! It is extremely significant! The media refuses to acknowledge it, and concentrates on petty things, and won’t let go of impeachment.
Meanwhile, the lying media didn’t tell the American people that bammy just got back from a vacation in Italy. What? you didn’t hear about it?

Commenting on this speech will be difficult for the MSM which is SO patently inimical to this President that their 'reporting' is worthless. It WAS a great speech and very well delivered.

I have read Churchill's speeches and the FDR's ‘Norway’ speech, etc. In all the years I have paid attention to speeches of great leaders, very little compares to them in terms of humanity, fitness for the occasion and sincerity. Trump's speech was opportune, direct, profound, JUST as compelling and absolutely ranks in the class with those men.

No one can criticize that speech without diminishing himself/herself in the process.

And he sealed it with the hands on the globe....which was like ball players doing hand on hand....we're all in this together and we want to win.

That globe was for the opening of a world wide initiative to stamp out terrorism.

I’m enjoying the video, but not the background commentary. So many interesting things to see and learn about. The producers should have had local experts giving commentary on what we are seeing...but instead “talking head blather”... and as soon as they bring up the Russians....CLICK...OFF. I won’t listen to that crap in MY house.

"The American masses need to be told what the speech means via elite government / media worship wordsmithing. That is the new normal."

No, that is the OLD normal, which started at least as early as FDR. The NEW normal is the internet, which for the first time allows "fact-checking" (or more accuratly "meme-checking) and an alternative to monopolistic news reportage.

The former monopolistic media is desperately trying to get back to "the way things were"....but the people "ain't buyin' it".

Thanks for the new tag line. Have no use for facebook or twitter. IMHO, we are worse off because of both.

I have not watched a news program since Bill O’Reilly got fired!

I’m done with news TV - I am a news junkie, so I rely on FR, Drudge and other internet sources to keep me informed.

So far, so good!

Trump’s Saudi Speech: Pretty Good
But one speech does not a policy make; it must be the beginning of a consistent approach in battling Islamist ideology.
By Daniel Pipes — May 21, 2017

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/447835/trump-saudi-speech-pretty-good-must-begin-consistent-approach

In Riyadh, on the first stop of his tri-monotheism tour that will take him to Jerusalem and Rome (sorry, Mecca was not available), Donald Trump gave a major speech on a wide range of topics: the Middle East, jihadi violence, Iran, an “Arab NATO,” and Islam. It’s a mixed performance, but overall positive.

First, what’s wrong with the 34-minute speech: It was incoherent, jumping from topic to topic and then back again. It was neither eloquent nor insightful (as in, “Terrorists do not worship God, they worship death”). In places, it consisted of Obama-like euphemisms, such as the statement that history’s great test stands before us, one goal that transcends every other consideration: “to conquer extremism and vanquish the forces of terrorism.”

And it was farcical to announce the opening in Riyadh (the headquarters of Wahhabism) of a Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology. I bristled at Trump calling Saudi Arabia “sacred land.” I gagged on the warm praise for King Salman, someone implicated in contributing tens of millions of U.S. dollars during the 1990s to finance jihadi violence in Bosnia and Pakistan.

The context of the speech is acutely worrisome: U.S.–Saudi agreements totaling over $380 billion grants a tyrannical regime added influence over Americans. The $110 billion Saudi purchase of U.S. arms makes a vast arsenal available to a government whose goals differ profoundly from those of most Americans.

These not inconsiderable reservations aside, it was a good speech that signaled a major shift in the right direction from the Obama years — particularly with regard to Iran and Islam. Most important was Trump’s willingness to point to the ideology of Islamism as the enemy. This matters exceedingly for, just as a physician must first identify a medical problem before treating it, so a strategist must identify the enemy before defeating it. To talk about “evildoers,” “terrorists,” and “violent extremists” is to miss the enemy’s Islamic core.

Like we do here and have been since long before Facebook? Diversity is NOT our greatest strength. Sometimes people need to talk to like-minded people.

It’s why we listen to Rush. It’s why we have clubs.

Whether the bigot-press recognizes him as a great president, or not, the press is behaving like something I scrape off my shoe when I come in the house.

This Daniel Pipes quit the Republican party mid-2016.

He is a Trump hater. For him to say "pretty good" means Trump knocked it out of the park.

We need to remember, it's not just the words of the speech that are important, it's also the gathering of so many Muslim leaders of the world in one place to hear him speak!

This is high diplomacy. Henry Kissinger must now bow to the new master of American statesmanship.

Yes, I agree, and what happens when
The Mirrors become the whole of our awareness?
Worse, what happens when those within are as empty
as the sense of self of a Narcissist?

I LIKE FreeRepublic
It's an excellent example of a
“Hall of Mirrors” in a good way, I believe

From “The Boxer” by Simon and Garfunkel

I am just a poor boy
Though my story's seldom told
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocket full of mumbles, such are promises
All lies and jests
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest

No one can criticize that speech without diminishing himself/herself in the process.

Rush Limbaugh pointed out the same thing today.

We have been told that Trump is so reckless and so dangerous and so stupid and so uninformed and ill-prepared that he could undo all of the great accomplishments of every president before him combined in less than one week, such a boob is Trump. Trump would destroy any chance that our allies in the Middle East ever had of peace or of working with him. The United States and its precious image around the world would be destroyed by this bull-in-the-china-shop man.

And, instead, the news of this weekend, the achievements, the accomplishments, the rave reception that President Trump is getting everywhere he is going, the profound respect — now, I understand that some of it may be flattery. I understand some of it may be calculated and not all genuine. But the point is, ladies and gentlemen, let me just cut to the chase. We’re looking at two different presidents here if all we have to go on is the media.

When Trump is in Washington, D.C., what is he? He is a genuine idiot. He’s impolitic, he’s uninformed, he’s running a chaotic administration where nobody knows what anybody is doing. Whenever they do anything it’s disastrous. Trump is cruising down the road to impeachment, and yet on this trip Trump is being hailed as great and accomplished and appreciated as any previous president has been. Maybe a couple of exceptions on specific items.

Now, how can that be?

Phenomenally Successful Trip Proves the Trump of Washington Media Doesn’t Exist

I neither listen or watch the news now. I did watch some OANN during the election. Regular broadcast news makes my blood pressure rise, so I turn it off.

They just outright suck. Immature, biased liberal POS’s. Trying to brainwash the masses and feed hatred towards our president, one who cares about putting us back on track and being prosperous and safe etc. I just don’t get it. There must be some evil people behind them pulling strings.
