[Schumer] said on Sunday that Democrats would consider refusing to vote on a new FBI director until a special prosecutor is named to investigate President Donald Trump’s potential ties to Russia.
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said his caucus has not yet made a decision on whether to withhold their votes, but added that the issue is being looked at as a way to ensure there is a thorough investigation of alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.
“To have that special prosecutor, people would breathe a sigh of relief because then there would be a real independent person overlooking the FBI director,” Schumer told CNN’s “State of the Union” program.
Solution is to name Sheriff Clarke as interim director. They’ll be ready to vote on a permanent director.
It will be a simple matter to add the Clinton/Russia links to a bill of attainder. That should squelch any more talk about a SP.

Under the Reid Rule, presidential nominees only need a simple majority of the Senators voting to be confirmed. So if the Democrats boycott, the nominee will still be confirmed but with a higher percentage of the vote (a unanimous vote if none of the RINOs flip and vote against the nominee).
Basically, this is the equivalent of a toddler having a tantrum and leaving a game while the others simply continue to play.

All the D’s need is the knowledge that McCain, Collins, and probably Murkowski are on the D team. That gives the D’s authority over the Senate.
Note that R’s always go along with D appointments and rarely whimper a complaint. D’s will block the best qualified and everyone else, regardless, as a matter of party policy. If the R’s can’t compete at that level, the R’s will perpetually be underdogs and the country will suffer mightily. The R’s always state to represent all Americans; the D’s only represent the fringe and will even denigrate and threaten every other American, who are considered nothing but an economic resource to the D’s.
I was shocked to hear of the recent squelching of a rule that, for every dollar the R’s spend on the nation’s defense, the D’s would get a dollar of social spending. That social spending means vote purchases whereas defense spending is for protecting all Americans. How could the R party ever cooperate with such a rule—effectively campaigning for D candidates with every dollar spent on the normal functions of government. So, that is how the D party gathered so much power despite having such extremist and minority policies.
What is really scary, is that they can attack a sitting president with this made up Russia bullshit, and almost Kafka like, destroy a human being with a false crime. He is the President, and so we are all at risk.
It is unsettling that this Russia bullshit, made up by the DNC is still being perpetuated with the sickening result of another Independent Counsel. There wasn’t even a crime committed. They have vague espionage inklings, but they want to shut down the government and destroy the Trump Administration before it gets going. I would fight this to the death, and ignore these DNC scumbags. Loretta Lynch, on the tarmac getting stoned with Bill Clinton, still never recused herself from Hillary’s criminal investigation. The arrogance of knowing that the media will not question you and will take your back. The double standard is infuriating.
After 2 years of wire taping every one of Trumps conversations, they still have no evidence, because this Russia crap never happened.
If they had something on Trump Susan Rice would have used it. They hate Trump, especially for his birther attacks. Yet still no evidence, from an Administration that had no trepidation about using the police powers of the state to advance it’s political power, and destroy its opponents. More like Nixon than Nixon ever was.
DNC media is in the tank and will not defend America, so they deserve the opprobrium that they receive.
