It's an ABOVE GROUND "tunnel". The above-ground portion rises about 15 feet above ground; don't know how deep it is below ground.

My husband worked there in 1986. It is run very safely up there. Sounds like no radiation released. Nobody hurt. Should all be ok. Don’t get your news from the EPA site tho.

A friend of mine is an engineer who works there. No radiation, no problem. Big scares headlines though.
