A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a weekend incident in which a 68-year-old woman was thrown into an apartment complex pool after she tried to break up a party, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said.
The teen turned himself in to police in North Lauderdale, Florida, at about 5 p.m. Monday, authorities said.

The article doesn’t say...but if that kid turned himself in with or without his parents’ involvement, it was the right thing to do for such horrid treatment of that woman. At least he did that..

Now how is that poor boy going to go to college and get a good job with a felony assault charge. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was just hanging around with the wrong crowd. We can’t let one bad decision ruin his bright future. He could be the next scientist that solves global warming and world hunger....

The thugs were trespassing, not residents. The woman was acting as the property manager-- she is on the board of the Homeowners Association for the property.

Yes, I really wish more of the contextual facts were available — that the whole story would come out over time. This event and the recent attack on the two older women out exercising should raise the awareness level of many.
