“Why? To make malcontents happy?”

Do you understand the difference between right and wrong?

Do you understand that it is important to oppose evil, and for a leader to be seen to oppose evil?

Do you understand the harm that is done when we assent to evil?

This is the first disappointment of his administration.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess you were not disappointed that he kept the illegal and unconstitutional DACA program running and has now told those illegal aliens that they can rest easy, indicating that the program and they are here to stay.
It also indicates that their parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. will be staying as well as long as they are not caught and convicted of committing other crimes.
Since the election the language has shifted from they all have to go to only the criminals have to go.
You do that by taking the right stances and Trump is doing that. PP was just defunded in the House bill on health care. He's securing the border.
“You do that by taking the right stances”
My 12-year-old is looking at my screen, and just asked me what a “stance” is.
I told her, “Well, a pose, really.”
What a president does mattes. His poses don’t.
I am so sick of you complainers. President Trump is the best President I have seen in my 70 years. He has done more in his short time than anyone should really expect. Have you forgotten TPP, have you heard about the numbers of illegals being kept out of the country, the supreme court justice he appointed? How about the pipelines being approved, the build up of the military? I sure there are many more things that he has done that we all like.
You whiners, are all great saying he should be fighting tooth and nail over every subject but he has to pick fights he can win, and put off things that he needs to.
Concur; whining, murmuring, complaining that Hillary Clinton is not President, Susan Rice is not Secretary of State, and Merrick Garland is not the ninth Justice. I don't even want to consider the other consequences of losing.
Some of the Hebrew slaves freed from Egypt behaved similarly: whining, murmuring, and complaining; it did not end well for them.
I hadn't heard.
I'm quite proud to have voted for a President that said this yesterday:
“Freedom is not a gift from government. It is a gift from God,” Trump said in signing the order. “We are here to defend the rights of all Americans.”
That is an example of using the bully pulpit to provide moral leadership for the nation.
100 percent accurate analysis.
Of course Trump could veto the spending bill and then one of two things would have happened:
1. It had enough votes in house and senate for his veto to be overridden or
2. the impasse would shut down the govt, and slow growth. Trump is doing all he can to rev up growth to 3% + so he can parlay that growth into a bigger agenda items.
It was a short term back burner move while he gathers strength.
Trump is getting some good work out of Wilbur Ross and getting State in line.
It’s day 109. Good grief people.
“That is an example of using the bully pulpit to provide moral leadership for the nation.”
Yes, but it has to be backed up by actions. Signing the CR undermines his credibility.
Not what I wanted to read.
If he starts caving to the RINOs, we’re doomed.
You gave me ONE small measly legislative victory and I mean small. Besides, who cares. The bill Trump signed funds PP to the fullest of democrat wants. That bill is more important. The bill you cited is a minor bill that practically means nothing.
That was really pathetic.
This CR is a moral abomination. He signed it.
How odd it must be to see the world in stark black and white.
If he had not signed the bill, the RATS would have shut the government down. As much as many of us would respond emotionally to this in a positive way, it’s far from the best course of action right now, since the media (which is 99% anti-Trump, in case you’ve forgotten) would have had a field day - with endless 24/7 stories of starving Grandmas, sick babies and Maxine Pruneface going on about how Trump should be impeached because he allowed this all to happen.
Yes. This sucks. THAT would have sucked more.
“How odd it must be to see the world in stark black and white.”
How blind are those who will not call a spade a spade.
“If he had not signed the bill, the RATS would have shut the government down.”
No, they’d have overridden his veto.
“the media (which is 99% anti-Trump, in case you’ve forgotten)”
We are at war with the media, in case you hadn’t noticed. We have to stop letting them dictate the course of events.,
“it’s far from the best course of action right now”
There is no worse course of action than to accede to evil. Period.
Your whole argument boils down to this: Trump was right to sign this evil bill, in violation of his promises, because our enemies would have said bad things about him if he hadn’t.
Do you get paid for posting crap like that?
That’s just a gross simplification, wrapped up in pointless insults.
Discussion over.
“That’s just a gross simplification”
That destroyed your so-called position.
“wrapped up in pointless insults”
There are things so bad that one has an obligation to say terrible things about them at every opportunity.
“Discussion over.”
Yes, giving up a bogus position is a reasonable decision.
