EXACTLY MY POINT! Yet we have blind followers singing praises as if this were the wall that Trump has spoken of but it obviously isn’t! And he has a budget stooge come to the mic trying to sell a bill of goods to his most loyal supporters playing us for fools! This anti Trumper meme is old and tiresome. Holding to account what was promised IS NOT anti anything nor is being critical of policies that we do not support or are liberal. That is what conservatives do we don’t sell our principles and blindly cheerlead like Pom Pom dancers. That is what Obamabot supporters did for 8 years and wrecked us as a result.

This isn’t buying what globalists are selling but I won’t be a personality cultist stooge cheerleading something that doesn’t exist or played a fool.

Also, that see-through fencing reportedly is fairly regularly cut through.

History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme. In 2006, the Democrats regained control of the House of Representatives, and in 2008 regained the Presidency. George W. Bush and his advisers got America bogged down in another multi-year no win war in Afghanistan and Iraq. They also went weak on conservative reforms and actually expanded Medicare. The GOP paid the price then, and will do so now if they fail to address the goals of the voters who placed them in power. We are also in a time when the Democrats have become more radicalized. Cold war, old school liberals like Daniel Moynihan, Scoop Jackson, and Joe Lieberman would be persona non grata in the current party. If they retake Congress in 2018 and the White House in 2020, they will make Obama and Bill Clinton look like models of restraint.

Bluntly, we are almost out of time. I don't blame Trump as much as his neo-con advisers and the traitors in Congress with an "R" by their name.

To Recap:
The left has no change in the budget from before its continuing like it was, The right got parity stripped from the military spending and 2/3 of what it asked for, money to secure the border and step up the barrier the agents wanted built and school choice funded.

Sounds like we got the better part of that deal since they only got what they already had.

In that view I agree with you. My view was that Trump could very well have veto and shut it down however I see not sides showdown now or showdown later. I would have had it happen now to send a message 1.1 trillion dollar budget is a no starter. I don’t hear talk of a balanced budget from anyone and I don’t like it

As you continue in good conscience to speak your mind and if your conscience tells you to speak contrary to standard issue Trumpcorrectness, you will find that if the facts cannot be disputed the source will be attacked.

In this case they can't attack the province of the photo so they are reduced to attacking you. Welcome to the fray, wear the cuts and insults as badges of honor and continue to speak your mind in good conscience.

I heard Mulvaney in what seemed like a 5 minute clip. He boasted that the things Trump wanted to cut only increased by 5 billion and the things Trump wanted to increase increased by 30 billion. Therefore Trump won.

That isn't a win for me

I admire you hairy chest-ers for your vigor, but you’re barking up the wrong tree. This CR is the tail end of Obunga’s budgeting. It’s actually something HE didn’t get finished before leaving. So, in passing this to get us to October, WE got a crack at HIS last “budget”. Trump’s first budget doesn’t happen until this Fall. If THAT ONE doesn’t measure up, THEN you have a right to be P.Od. By having our fingers in the tail end of Obloviate’s budget, we WERE able to get more $$$$ for the steel wall. And brace yourself. There may not ever be any brick and mortar wall. Border Control doesn’t WANT that. They want to be able to see through it. Bricks and mortar, per se, was merely campaign rhetoric. REALITY prevails. There will be a barricade, if you will, but it needs to be what the troops on the border WANT. Not what WE think would LOOK impressive. Get a grip!

I can see your viewpoint as well and do respect that position. I however took the side of if Trump wanted to make a statement he could have shut the Government down and taken a stand now and not a “promise” to do so in the next round. My biggest objection is no one including Trump is talking about a balanced budget. Tossing the 1.1 trillion dollar can down the road as was the case here is what has now been done for the last 12 years. We have allowed this spending frenzy go on long enough. Today should be the day not tomorrow. That’s my position

"we don’t sell our principles and blindly cheerlead like Pom Pom dancers."

^^^^^ THIS !!!! ^^^

Now, with that being said and agreed, that doesn't mean we need to lay full blame on Trump - he can only sign (or veto) what Bill(s) land on his desk. We have spineless Congress-critters that won't use the power they have, and the mandate they were given, to execute on the campaign commitments that were made - both by Trump, and by them.

Where you certainly CAN blame Trump is that he has yet to take the GOP leadership to the woodshed - publicly - for not giving him a better bill to sign. I think some of this is just his personal style of negotiating (put forth a plan that you know you can't get all of, and then settle for something that is "directionally correct"). As success and wins build, he then has momentum to get more of his agenda passed, as it becomes harder and harder for Congress to resist him politically. The real tell will be when mid-term campaigning begins - will Trump push for leadership change? Will he appeal to the American people to ("give me people I can work with")?

Trump is clearly out to the right of the core of the GOP elite. If we Conservatives DON'T keep up the pressure, he'll drift to the left. If we keep pushing him AND the Congress on the Trump agenda and promises, he'll stay where he is, and necessarily begin marginalizing the GOP "moderates". Trump knows it was the active, vocal Conservatives that turned out and put him over the top in November, can are vital to a successful 2020 campaign as well.

McConnell and Ryan are acting pretty smug, assuming they can control Trump and the agenda from the Senate and House. We'll see if that stands the test of time ...

There will be no balanced budget until Trump’s tax plan is adopted and trade become “fair” instead of “free”. Congress has dug the deficit hole and they are not about to fill it and reverse more than two decades of deficit spending.

The only thing passed was a continuing resolution of last years budget, all the Democrats claim they won, they had in that budget, it was not cut is all. Trump however got rid of the pairity rule for military funding, got 2/3 of what he asked, got to continue the wall building of 24 foot metal walls already in progress and got school choice funded with riders attached to the CR

As you were taught in NCO leadership, you pick your battles, This one is good for us with military, border security, and school choice. The actual budget is where the battle needs to be. This was only a CR with a couple riders.
