United Airlines Passenger Was Violent in Removal, Police Report Says
The New York Times ^ | April 25, 2017 | Jonah Engel Bromwich

Posted on 04/26/2017 7:44:23 PM PDT by SarahPalin2012

Newly released police documents claim that Dr. David Dao, the passenger who was shown being dragged off a United Airlines flight on April 9 in widely shared videos, behaved violently toward the officers removing him, but his lawyer dismissed this account as “utter nonsense.”

The phone videos taken by other passengers set off waves of criticism and multiple statements from the airline, each more apologetic than the last.

The police reports were released Monday afternoon in response to a freedom of information request filed by The New York Times and other news organizations. The releases included audio of the original call to the Chicago Department of Aviation police, personnel reports about the officers and an incident report that appeared to blame Dr. Dao for his own injuries.

Already been an expensive screw up for United. They have lost what if any customer good will they had. People are just looking for any reason to point out their numerous failures now.

Bunny Killers...

Roast him for what? He didn’t violate the contract of carriage. United did.

The same people who want Dao beaten to within an inch of his life for remaining in his assigned seat act giddy over the fact that United broke laws on a massive scale in their dealings with Dao. Makes no sense at all.

United Airlines Corporation was probably wrong, however only stupid jerks get their teeth knocked out resisting law enforcement personnel. If Dao figured United was doing him wrong, and if he had an ounce of brain in his head, he would have fought them in court. Dao is an arrogant jerk who thinks he is superior to law enforcement people because he is a doctor.

Clearly if I were a UA lawyer I would go after Doa’s mental state. He is not right. His behavior was NOT normal. I don’t think UA is responsible if a passenger is mentally deranged.

Maybe when they started to pull him out of his seat, he resisted.

The way they treated a paying passenger minding his own business is totally unacceptable.

The Chicago Department of Aviation already threw those 3 thugs under the bus.

We still don't know their names. Yet. I wonder what their backgrounds will reveal when the nets start digging.

“Makes no sense at all.”

It really doesn’t make any sense. Dao was an individual standing up for his right to fly. He paid for his ticket and was seated on the plane.

Every time this incident comes up I have to check that I’m still on Freerepublic. Some of the posters cause me to think I accidentally clicked a communist website.

While a cop is sitting at the donut shop waiting for his breakfast, tell him he has to leave his seat and pay for your meal. If he refuses, drag him out the door and claim he was violently seated.

Because being reasonable and non-belligerent in your world = deranged.

‘Joya Griffin Cummings, the passenger who filmed and share this new footage, wrote in a Facebook post that Dao was no more “irate or belligerent than any weary passenger after a long day of travel would be.”

“He was irritated as any passenger would be, questioning why he was chosen and explaining that he was a doctor and had patients to see in the morning,” Cummings wrote. “I was not concerned for my safety, nor that of my toddler’s or for my pregnancy, until the police were called aboard our plane to remove him.”’

+1

It’s been a huge eye-opener. If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I’d never have believed it.

If I ask you to leave my house and you nicely stand there and politely refuse to leave that is belligerence.

Time will tell. I don’t expect it to ever get to a trial or a jury.

That is the worst analogy of this entire incident. Please educate yourself re the laws that govern Common Carriers.

Did I pay you to spend the night in your house? Is it a B&B?
