Clearly if I were a UA lawyer I would go after Doa’s mental state. He is not right. His behavior was NOT normal. I don’t think UA is responsible if a passenger is mentally deranged.
Because being reasonable and non-belligerent in your world = deranged.
‘Joya Griffin Cummings, the passenger who filmed and share this new footage, wrote in a Facebook post that Dao was no more “irate or belligerent than any weary passenger after a long day of travel would be.”
“He was irritated as any passenger would be, questioning why he was chosen and explaining that he was a doctor and had patients to see in the morning,” Cummings wrote. “I was not concerned for my safety, nor that of my toddler’s or for my pregnancy, until the police were called aboard our plane to remove him.”’
Time will tell. I don’t expect it to ever get to a trial or a jury.

He may indeed by mentally deranged, but I think he was clever enough to see the situation as an opportunity to sue United Airlines. What he didn’t anticipate was that his resistance would cost him a few teeth and a cracked skull.
Told you it would never see a jury. Settled out of court for and undisclosed amount.
