Army vet tied dog to tree, shot it 5 times at close range

An Army veteran was thrown behind bars Tuesday for allegedly tying her PTSD therapy dog to a tree and shooting him five times at close range — killing the poor pup for no apparent reason while a soldier filmed it.

...

Court documents obtained by the Fayetteville Observer describe how she teamed up with her boyfriend, Jarren Heng, 25, for the seemingly random killing earlier this month.

The couple allegedly led the white and gray pit bull to a wooded area before tying him to a tree and taking his life. ... ultimately was shot five times with a rifle as Rollins and Heng, who is still enlisted and stationed at Fort Bragg, took turns filming him.

“Let me hit him once,” Heng can be heard saying in the video.

Throughout the disturbing clip, he and Rollins both laugh and joke about the dog’s brutal death ...

Who, after seeing the reality and truth of what actually happened, seem to have gone suddenly silent.

Cowards.

Gutless, soulless cowards.

There is a great show called Pet Heroes. In one episode, it talks about a NeNewfoundland who was adopted by a regiment of Canadian troops during WW II.

Long story short, the dog, named Gander, noticed that the troops were throwing back the Japanese grenades.

At some point, the men were all injured and another grenade came flying in,but they wwere too injured to reach it. So the dog grabbed it into its mouth and ran away. He was blown up a few seconds later, but he saved the lives of seven men.

I think he received posthumous military award for that.

Military, police and service dogs are amazing. Truly man’s best friend.

She was caught cheating on him several times.

Maybe she’s just an evil, psycho whore.

They’ve gone through her texts to her partner in crime and this was planned out and premeditated, over a fair span of time, during which, she could have managed one, lucid, non-batshit moment of mercy.

No ‘sudden, tragic psychic snap’, this.

She wanted to ‘punish’ her husband and she did.

Brutally.

I don’t want to hear any sad, sympathetic theories.

If *I* ever did something like this, I would expect you all to frog march me out behind the barn and put me out of your misery, because I would utterly deserve it.

You just watch...they’re gonna turn this bloody fiend into a ‘victim’, somehow.

And the assholishness is coming from quarters I never expected.

Maybe I haven’t been paying enough attention.

I was assigned to a MACV Team in Vietnam, but my primary MOS was Military Police.

One of my best buddies over there was a Dog Handler Trainer.
(Both Sentry and Tracker)

Dogs that ended up with the ARVNs did not fare well.

Well I’m not trying to excuse her behavior. There’s plenty of crazy people who never do evil things and she can be held accountable. But her ex mentions says that something traumatic happened in Korea and she came back very different. She’s the right age for sudden onset or acute schizophrenia and bizarre behavior can be one symptom.

Guess what...Dobermanns are the ONLY breed that was created to take down humans.

That’s right.

Not herd livestock, not carry packs, not retrieve ducks, no other purpose than to grab and dispatch human threats to their owners.

They were not ‘bred to fight”; they were bred to KILL.

In fact, they once “enjoyed” the ‘bad reputation’ that Pibbles now carry.

I have lived through 40-some years of this bargain basement histrionic crap and remained loyal to the very breed that stopped a pedophile from continuing his 5 year reign of terror over me.

And lo and behold....there is this.

http://www.stargazer-dobermans.com/USMCDevilDogswars.html

Another funny factoid:

Out of the wildly scarce, fatal ‘Dobermann attacks’, 99% of them were done in defense of their owner.

I see no downside in that.

You should be so lucky as to own a dog who will kill or die for you.

They planned it out over quite a span of time.

Does not sound like a sudden freak out, to me.

And even if she was utterly certifiable, her freak of a lover could have stopped her, but no, he was laughing it up, right along with her.

It’s a long walk to the middle of nowhere in the woods.

Plenty of time to snap out of it and change your mind.

Her ‘best friend’ is saying she only had the dog ‘certified’ as a support dog so she could keep him in the no-dogs apartment...and for nothing else.

Keep a list in your head.

I may agree with someone over 99.9% of other subjects, but when they break stupid over hurting animals or kids, they’re dead to me.

I have a feeling after that revelation those who were defending these jackasses won’t be showing back up here.

No surprise this seems to be a spiteful revenge killing. My question is how could anyone capable of critical thought read this report regarding their behavior and not suspect these people were flat-out cold and ruthless?

Honestly, I don’t know.

My mind is not wired that way.

For my own self, had I been one of those shooting off their mouths, having learned that I was desperately wrong, I would be in here apologizing for my stupidity and begging forgiveness.

But that’s just me.

It’s an honor/honesty thing.

Their mileage may vary.

The dog belonged to her *husband*, and she and her partner in adultery did this and posted it to torture the soon-be-ex-husband.

It appears we were fed lies to begin with. The dog was not her therapy dog. The motive for the video now makes some sense, in a twisted way.

They were obviously wrong to destroy someone else’s property, and their motives appear to have been evil.

That is a totally different case than we were presented with at first.

The dog still died very quickly in the video. Perhaps more facts will come out about what happened before that. As I stated, the dog looked sick.

Maybe it was injured before the video.

I have to sleep sometime. Just got up, and have a busy day ahead.

I see no need to apologize for opinions based on false information.

Now we have a motive for them to post the video. A stupid and cruel motive, but a motive.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but that is why you research before you shoot your mouth off.

I did.

It was easy.

People who watched the video have described it blow by blow, as it were, and said the poor, trusting, loving dog laid there, looking up at those grinning demons, wagging his tail as he died.

Think of that lovely image, henceforth.

At the *very* least, were it ~my~ “mistake”, I would apologize for not bothering to research the [easily found] facts before I shot my mouth off.

YMMV....obviously.

And for all those excusing her for the theoretical ‘terrible thing that changed her in Korea”, he ex said;

“Marinna was discharged from the military in December of 2016 and according to Matt, fell into drinking heavily and drugs.”

So, yeah, “PTSD”....pounding that sh*t down.

Surprise.

Some do come back...and continue to justify their words, even under the guise of error and ignorance.

It makes you lose faith.

The dog was not “sick”.

It has been stated, ad infinitum, that the whore’s new screw kept the dog penned in a crate because he hated it.

People who knew her and the dog have attested that he was, prior to the video, obviously, quite healthy, young and robust.

Her _own family_ turned her in, because they knew she had brutally killed an innocent dog.

Maybe it “looked sick” because it was effing terrified, sensing that something was horribly wrong, in the extreme?

Or they kicked him around a bit, on their way to his execution spot?

The phony “but he was sickly” meme surfaced from the killers, themselves, only *after* the whole damn world came down on them with righteous rage.

They buried the body and will not divulge its whereabouts, knowing a necropsy would destroy that lie.

Is there *any* chance at *all*, that you will cease your attempts to justify your words?

/doubt it

“The dog still died very quickly in the video.”

Oh, well.
Hell.
That changes everything.
No big deal, then.

I did.

It was easy.

So you knew it was not her dog, early on!

Why didn’t you tell us?

Because you did not know.

Just as you did not know that she was posting the video to cause pain for her husband.

Everything I said about the dog being killed quickly and painlessly was and is true.

That does not make what she did right.

But her motives do not make the facts of the method of killing false.

Ownership makes a big difference. We did not know that the dog was not hers before. We were told it was.

Motives make a big difference, but we did not know the motives before.

Dogs are trusting. They often wag their tails before they are killed.

It is a sign that they likely have not been tortured up to that point.

Most people who put down their dogs want to remember them wagging their tails at the end.
