Trump Responds To Sanctuary Cities Ruling: 'See You In The Supreme Court!'

President Trump ripped the Tuesday decision by a federal court to strike down his executive order blocking federal funding from sanctuary cities, in a series of tweets Wednesday morning.

Trump criticized the 9th Circuit for rendering two objectionable rulings: the Tuesday decision on sanctuary cities, and the appeals court decision that took down his immigration order.

"First the Ninth Circuit rules against the ban & now it hits again on sanctuary cities-both ridiculous rulings. See you in the Supreme Court!" Trump tweeted.

Judge says (essentially) “can't withhold federal funds to force states to enforce federal laws”. Didn't we learn this was false with threat of federal highway funds being withheld for not enforcing seat belt laws. So the libs “court-shopped” and found a willing judge (not difficult) and that halts everything? Push it to the SCOTUS, plus get the judge dis-barred. We need to fight nastiness with nastiness.

Yes when he is right.
No when he is wrong.
DACA is wrong.
DACA must end.

There was no need for this executive order. The order was for the “show” and hoping sanctuary cities would back down. Just enforce the law and with hold the funds. Just do the job and move on

“DACA is wrong.”

I concur.

“DACA must end.”

I concur. I’m confident President Trump will end it in a way that’s best for the country at the time he ends it.

I don’t believe you will ever be happy with President Trump given your fallacy addiction.

Have a nice day :)

...Sessions: I don’t understand why my letter had no effect… it was sternly worded and on legal-sized paper...

Just as Trump’s Executive Order which quoted the provision of the law passed in 1996 that allows withholding of funds to sanctuary cities put sanctuary cities on notice that the current law will be enforced, San Francisco was “poked” by the letter.
Once again, the Courts in the Ninth Circuit will be shown to be the buffoons they are.

My point is that it’s pretty useless until it’s enforced.

They’ve done that plenty of times; I’d just rather start playing offensively rather than defensively.
(i.e. How about we actually start prosecuting judges for their lawlessness?)

That time has passed. Today will do. Tomorrow is unacceptable.

END IT NOW.

I’m wondering if the travel ban EOs are a smoke screen. The extreme vetting is in effect. It will accomplish the same thing as a ban.

The "ban" was really just a 3 month pause to give us time to fix the vetting process. By now we're probably already adjusted the vetting process, so the pause really isn't even needed any more.

Poor thang.

You should send President Trump a strongly worded letter.
