Dems may oppose the wall, but if GOP wanted it, couldn't they fund it? They don't want it, right?

Sorry for the vanity, but I'm confused about the posts blaming Dems for blocking funding for the wall. The GOP is still in control of Congress, or was there an election that I missed?

Democrats could filibuster it in the Senate. We will have to wait for the ordinary budget process.

Making this a 2018 issue ensures a motivated base. Midterms.

Why would you deceive about the fact that not NEARLY all republicans in the senate are on board with this?

Republicans could pass anything they wanted tomorrow. All they would need is to decide to use the Nuclear Option to eliminate the 60-vote filibuster rule, then pass the budget with just Republican votes.

A little confused as well. How many votes do they need in the House and Senate for this?

The GOPe is against the Wall as much as the Dems are.

This is illustrating why we’ve had decades of promises, and not even a fence.

Our big problem is the (lying) GOP.

Thank God for President Trump.

The Republicans are useless. I don’t know why people are sending them money. They’re breaking records with contributions. Has Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell ever said that they wanted a wall built? Don’t allow Trump to wait for the next budget.

OK, didn’t realize that. You confident there are enough GOP votes when ordinary budget comes?

Take it from the military budget and in the process BRAC a few bases in Democrat states.

Not in the least bit. They can pass anything they want because they can get around any rules they want. Nothing will change... only the actual lie use.

The GOP does not want a wall or enforcement.
They want to keep the Cheap Labor Express running.
That is why until Trump blasted his way through they have always nominated amnesty candidates since the last amnesty.
This is one issue that he cannot afford to backslide on.
It is what got him elected and will determine if he gets re-elected.
The Uniparty knows that and that’s why they want him to keep DACA and go slow on enforcement.
They will block him from building the wall any way they can.

The Democrats, with the help of globalist Repukes, will fight tooth and nail against any measure that deters their “most” important and largest voting bloc from entering the nation illegally. We all know that. The Democrats are sitting ducks and desperate, but the nitwit and bought off Repukes are doing their best to rescue them.

Just watched “motor mouth” Thom Tillis (GOP a$$hole, NC) on Tucker. He’s certainly one of those who is muddying the water. Why, Oh why do we elect people like him?

Alexander, Corker, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, McCain, Murkowsky and Rubio all voted for the Gang of Amnesty bill.
Lots more would have if their votes were needed.
There might be a handful of Senators on the side of the citizens and the rule of law, most of them are on board the Cheap Labor Express.

Making this a 2018 issue ensures a motivated base. Midterms.

I'm not motivated by being suckered. They abolished the filibuster for nominations, abolish it for the Wall. It's foundational.

George H.W. Bush "Go ahead and read my lips, no new taxes".

When you make something central to your campaign and then fail to deliver ordinary sane Americans are not more motivated to go give you more power. That is false.
