Donald Trump to Be First President Since Reagan to Speak at NRA Annual Meetings
Breitbart News ^ | Apr. 15, 2017 | AWR Hawkins

President Donald Trump will be the first President to speak at the NRA Annual Meetings since Ronald Reagan did it in 1983.

He will speak to the NRA’s 2017 Leadership Forum in Atlanta on April 28.

Breitbart News reported that the NRA endorsed Trump on May 20, 2016, during the 2016 Annual Meetings in Louisville, Kentucky. Thereafter, the NRA campaigned for Trump, and Trump reminded voters again and again that he would work with the NRA to save the Second Amendment if elected.

Trump will now return to speak to the gun rights group that cheered him to victory last year. Bloomberg reports that this will make him “the first U.S. president to address the gun-rights group since Ronald Reagan in 1983.”

The peaceful little snowflakes are likely to get really violent when they hear about this.

Excellent indeed. the more Trump-Reagan connections, the better.

But it does make me wonder about Bush I and Bush II. Neither of them could find the time to attend a single NRA annual meeting? On second thought, maybe that’s not such a surprise after all.

But it does make me wonder about Bush I and Bush II

Bush I tore up his NRA card when Clinton was president

Bush II gave 2 speeches during the 2000 campaign saying "no one under 21 should be able to own a gun".

Along with the Conservative talking heads. He can’t do anything right in their book.

The Second Amendment gives everyone the right to own a gun.

From the most psychotic mental patient, to the most hardened felon.

Anything else is unconstitutional.

IMHO.

What he does best. The President is a champion cheerleader for belief in God, common sense and the power of positive thinking.

God bless America and God bless our President, Donald Trump.

When Ann Richards ran against him for Governor, she referred to him as "Shrub".

I think both Presidents Bush were politic equivalents of Scoop Jackson. Strong on defense but on all other issues democrats.

At the trap club I shoot at, there used to be a collection of old American Rifleman magazines there that you could leaf through casually. I can remember on one occasion reading one from the 1950s and even though Ike could not make their annual convention, he sent his kind regards.

It just seemed odd to read about something like that that probably raised no eyebrows whatsoever back then, and to think now about what kind of a reaction in Homowood and the elite media a President doing even something like that would garner.

The Bushes I & II belong to a branch of the Republican party that does NOT hold the self-reliant bearer of fire arms to be the paragon of all society. They long ago bought into the idea that there could be “too many” guns in the general circulation, and gun owners were not necessarily politically reliable.

It is my personal belief that President Trump packs a little concealed heat. And he stays in practice.

Just in case somebody gets past the Secret Service.
