Amid rising complaints that his aides are saying different things about Syria and that his policy is confusing, President Trump emphatically cleared the air Tuesday.
“We’re not going into Syria,” he told me in an exclusive interview. “Our policy is the same, it hasn’t changed. We’re not going into Syria.”
The president, speaking by phone, called Syrian president Bashar al-Assad a “butcher” and a “barbarian” for using sarin gas on his own people, but said last week’s successful missile strike on an air base there was not the start of a campaign to oust the dictator.
“Our big mission is getting rid of ISIS,” Trump said. “That’s where it’s always been. But when you see kids choking to death, you watch their lungs burning out, we had to hit him and hit him hard.”

Well that's a current talking point, but I'm not sure it's altogether true.
"his own people" is not well defined at all. Those who use it need to define it, especially for a region where clans rule.
Hussein used to frequently say "That's not who we are" but I think he was wrong most of the time.
I still think that it’s a good idea to form a short term alliance with Russia for the purpose of destroying ISIS in Iraq. Pound the crap out of ISIS and start driving them west right into the Russians then kill them all to the last man.

She did fine. I think Trump wanted to let her go off a bit, and clear the Trump/Russia stuff. Also projected strength
That’s good news, but he’s got to get his people on the same page. Haley sounds like she works for the Rubio Administration. Haley, McMaster, Mattis, Tillerson, etc. are giving different statements which confuses people.

He said it a long time ago. We're not going on nation building adventures, we're not doing 10 year long "compassionate" wars costing trillions or occupying their countries. Not happening.
It's all about America for America and this was just a message to these AHs. We have all these great weapons if needed and it's about time we use them, when needed. Such as this case.
I am still baffled as to why Trump would give her that job. I blame Reince. She was #NeverTrump, and her views are that of the neocon wing. Trump needed to pick somebody who agreed with his campaign platform.
