Did all that unlawful surveillance just pay off again...?
Once again the minority dictates to the majority and are running the show. Every time the GOP let the dems get away with this crap, it makes the next time even worse.
Bannon yesterday, Nunes today. Dems must be high-fiving!
More news to piss me off.
Statement:
Washington, D.C. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes today issued the following statement:
“Several leftwing activist groups have filed accusations against me with the Office of Congressional Ethics. The charges are entirely false and politically motivated, and are being leveled just as the American people are beginning to learn the truth about the improper unmasking of the identities of U.S. citizens and other abuses of power.
Despite the baselessness of the charges, I believe it is in the best interests of the House Intelligence Committee and the Congress for me to have Representative Mike Conaway, with assistance from Representatives Trey Gowdy and Tom Rooney, temporarily take charge of the Committee’s Russia investigation while the House Ethics Committee looks into this matter. I will continue to fulfill all my other responsibilities as Committee Chairman, and I am requesting to speak to the Ethics Committee at the earliest possible opportunity in order to expedite the dismissal of these false claims.”
Man..! We desperately need a new party....

Careful there. Any suggestion of replacing the GOP with a REAL party usually results in a flurry of attacks.
I agree with you. If the GOP was a stock, who would invest in it?

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) will temporarily step aside from an investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, including interactions between Moscow and the Trump campaign.
The probe will be taken over by Reps. Michael Conaway (R-Texas), Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) and Tom Rooney (R-Fla.)
Waiting to be lectured about yesterday and today being brilliance that us common folks just can’t see.
This is insane.
Paul Ryan is grinning like a jackal on FNC right now so... don’t know much about Conaway, but I bet a bunch of dems will be found shortly having disseminated unmasked taps. Gowdy assisting......
The establishment on both sides of the aisle, “Your playing in OUR sandbox, you'll play by OUR rules”.
Sounds like he is going to let Conaway handle the Russia investigation until he clears the ethics committee. While he waits to do that, he will still be the chairman looking into Susan Rice and her shenanagins plus anything else that comes to the committee. He is not stepping down, just dividing the work with the rest of the committee. Might be a smart move.
Sheesh. Spot on again.
Patience people...I have a feeling there is more to this than meets the eye.

What past Republican hearings or investigations give you this level of confidence? There probably is more to it....and it isn’t good.
With the news of yesterday and today, the only thing that could make this a trifecta is Trump trying to hand us another crap sandwich in healthcare with NO repeal.
They don’t call us the stupid party for nothing!
An innocent judge or chairman of the political committee has just as much of a duty to retain his office and fulfill his responsibilities as an innocent individual, or even one tainted by the appearance of impropriety, does to actually recuse himself. To give into frivolous complaints of outside agencies is to surrender the power to govern and it is to surrender the responsibility to govern when elected for that purpose.
I do not believe that Chairman Nunes has been tainted in any way, so what is up?
I’m so glad I became an independent and am no longer a registered Republican (I voted for DJT of course).......talk about the dumbest Political Party around! How they have control of most branches of government is beyond me! No backbone nor a clue! Talk about pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory!
I’m totally fed up. Weaklings.
Okay. I’m willing to give Gowdy a chance. He’s got a poor track record so far, but that was under a totally lawless regime.
MoveOn.org Civic Action today filed a federal ethics complaint with the U.S. House of Representatives' Office of Congressional Ethics against Nunes
