Seven people, including a pregnant woman, were killed in three separate shootings that happened within 12 hours of each other on Thursday in South Shore.
The attacks took place in an eight-block radius in the neighborhood, but Chicago Police have not said if they were related. No arrests had been made as of Friday morning.
The latest homicides happened about 11 p.m. as a 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman rode as passengers in a van going south on South Shore Drive. A black Jeep pulled alongside them near 70th Street and someone inside opened fire, hitting him in the side and her in the head. They died at the scene, police said.
About 3:30 p.m., a shooter walked into Nadia Fish and Chicken at the corner of 75th and Coles and opened fire, according to family members of the victims. Emmanuel C. Stokes, 28, and Edwin Davis, 32, were fatally shot inside the restaurant, authorities said.
Two other men, Dillon and Raheam Jackson, ran from the restaurant as gunfire erupted, but both were fatally shot in different parking lots within a block of the restaurant. All four were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiners office. Stokes and the Jacksons lived in South Shore; Davis was a Brainerd neighborhood resident, authorities said.

Chicago,Chicago, that todilin’ town.
Getting an early start on the weekend festivities.
If this keeps up, I might just win the Big Bet at Ceasers Palace for how many murders in Chicago in a Week!!
Yeah Baby, keep em coming.
Heartless. No mention of the fact that the baby also died.
Chicongo is more dangerous than Baghdad.
Dear Mayor Rahm Emmanuel:
Your job is to provide police protection to the citizens of your city.
You can’t do this, but you want to put in your opinion about national issues.
Here’s an idea.
Do your job.
If you can’t do your job, then quit. People are dying.
The Americans of African Descent are eventually going to figure out that you don’t really care about them.
Then, they are going to come for you.
Love and kisses!

I’m mystified. There are no gun stores in Chicago, yet people are getting shot daily. I was sure the article was going to be about murder by knife and baseball bats.
Why are there not massive amounts of violence in Wyoming, where there are probably more guns than people? I’m confused.
More and more unsolved murders. Where will it all end?
It will only end when the citizens are allowed to defend themselves and that will not happen as long as Democrats run Chicongo.
I grew up on South Shore Drive, right on Rainbow Park. Wonderful place to be a kid in those days.
Saddens me. Long time ago, South Shore Drive was a beautiful place to live, lots of wealthy families had homes there. The Museum of Science and Industry is at 5700 South Shore, 12 blocks from latest shooting. When we lived in Evanston, I took my very young kids there a lot on Saturday mornings. Sometimes we’d walk around the neighborhood afterwards.
Now, no-one should take their kids or anyone else into that dangerous ‘hood. Disgraceful and very sad, what’s happened there. Kids who live there have very little chance of making anything of their lives. Extremely sad.
Tell us more about how bad Trump is, Rahm.
” Long time ago, South Shore Drive was a beautiful place to live”
It’s amazing how far it has plummeted since Trump got elected. #RahmSays
Yep, it’s all Trump’s fault.
they all have guns....just depends on who pulls first...
This wouldn’t happen if we had Midnight Basketball.
That's about a half a year's worth for the entire state of Wyoming. We've averaged about 12 to 15 firearms deaths statewide per year since mid-2013.
Which was the year Wyoming introduced Constitutional Carry. Carry open or concealed, as you like, with no state license or permit required. It's worked out just fine.
To try and keep the number of *gun deaths* up, they had to include a murder-suicide a couple of years back with a bow and arrow.
In no-permits-needed Wyoming, of the people I run across in my daily business, about half are wearing iron, either openly or concealed. Whether open or covered depends a lot on the clothing worn for the daily weather and whether the particular weapon carried requires more protection from the elements or less.
Anyone, armed or not, figuring on causing trouble in the Cowboy State is usually going to be seriously outnumbered. And with our population being what it is, we tend to watch out for and take care of our neighbors, even if they're strangers when we first meet.
That's why.
