. Clearly they (the FC) intend to minimally support Trump again now that he is in the White House.

How much support do you think the GOPe is going to give Trump?
Especially on immigration and a wall?
What about balancing the budget?

“I voted for and support Trump but this irrational fanatic idolatry regardless of any position by him is downright creepy.”

I noticed a sudden blizzard of posters whose names I don’t recognized all badmouthing the Freedom Caucus and praising the RINOcare bill. Made me go “hmmmm.”

I’ve been blaming the freedom caucus for Boehner and Ryan.

For a long time.

That’s not sleezy. That’s just fact. They would not run against them. They just complained.

Well, for one thing, it would be a massive trampling of states' rights. Funny how the "purists" overlook that inconvenient truth.

I don't think so. Most everything can be bought across state lines. The whole point of the union was, among other things, to have a free flowing business sector.

Correct, but that doesn't mean that states have no right to regulate insurance sales that occur within their own state.

Has anybody here ever ordered alcohol through the mail from another state?

Notwithstanding the well-documented abuse of the Commerce Clause, I'm not aware of any power of the federal government that can force any specific state to offer goods or services which are sold in a different state, and I've not heard an argument that claims otherwise.

Admittedly, I'm no expert on such details, but it seems obvious that there are regulatory barriers which have been erected by states regarding insurance; I've never heard any claim that states are exceeding their rights in doing so.

I suspect that the way this change would be accomplished would be the usual "we'll withhold federal funding if a state doesn't comply" route, which a standard means of federal coercion...

We have 2 choices: Oppose president Trump because we don’t get everything we want and watch the GOP go down in defeat in 2018 because we failed to deliver Obamacare relief.

Suck it up like big boys and cut a deal, got some of what we want and work to get more conservatives elected in 2018 and then get Obamacare fully repealed.

We need party unity and we need to support our president or we will be destroyed. Principles won’t help you if we toss congress back to the Dems. So for once lets show a little unity and get stuff done.

True!

The FC has done what conservative? All talk (principal) no action.

The Republican party is not conservative. If anyone challenges the establishment for speaker they win or get their head cut off. It would take the right set of circumstances for a tea party type to win. Just won’t happen right now. That’s why they don’t challenge the establishment, just basic math.

Croooze supporters are feeling their liquor. They are all over the Trump method for winning at chess. Instead, they’re thrilled with appearances and missing all trust that Trump is signaling and knows very well what he’s doing.

He is very likely lighting a fuse. He’s sending a message that he is on to who’s who and what they’re doing. That we can’t decipher his signal is our problem.

Trump is exposing the cogs in the wheel for why things went South on healthcare. He knows and we do not!

I have sat here for a year watching conservative Gomert (R-TX) chase after Croooze and until last week remain in a sullen, silent slump ever since his man Ted got his head handed to him, by the brash outsider, who checkmated the vaunted “genius” and the showboat of the Senate.

So, who may be road blocking Trump may be surprising for some.

Trump has promised healthcare, it’s on his website, and that’s what he will sign.

Trump said two weeks ago that he might not sign the bill.

Keep that in mind. He has taken none of it back.

We’re told this simply takes legislation and not a constitutional amendment

I’m betting car insurance is sold across state lines

I don’t buy it.

You stand up, get counted, and start building a coalition.

The freedom caucus is generally awol.

Guess what zombie? I don’t support people. I support ideas. I will agree with people who support those ideas and disagree with people who don’t.

You are a blind lemming.

Government run medicine is for socialists. I won’t support it. I am glad we still have a couple dozen representatives who feel the same way.

Oh give me a break. The “purist” conservatives have been tilted pro amnesty all along.

Bought and paid for by the chamber of commerce, they NEVER fought one funding item against Obama since they gained the house and then the senate.

Gee I did not see that he called out NeverTrumper Paul Ryan and other main stream Republicans... etc... It looks like we are in for 4 more years of more of the same uniparty governing. RinoCare, Big Spending on Infrastructure, Tax Cuts for the Wealthy, Tweaks to NAFTA, IvankaCare (universal free day care). And if we ask any questions, our President Trump will become a Democrat. I guess we should be happy with the Supreme Court Justice (time will tell on that if he is another squish in a conservative costume) and the unfunded wall. I guess I have bought the bridge in Brooklyn before but I did not think he would be attacking conservative republicans within 60 days of taking office. That is demoralizing.

That is an impressive list of names there.

I ask again, who in the Freedom Caucus is pro-amnesty

they NEVER fought one funding item against Obama since they gained the house and then the senate.

I'm certain that if showed you contradictory evidence you would change your mind, right....?

My post #47: “On this issue and the border and immigration. Many of the “pure” conservatives are pro-amnesty because they’re pro-Chamber of Commerce.
They come together on defense and taxes.”

They are known by what they have NOT accomplished until Trump came along.

Exactly. Look at the supporters of the kamikaze caucus equating Trump with the kenyan in this very thread. They’ve dug in their heels and have totally lost touch with reality. If that isn’t blind “hero worship” nothing is.
