I don’t understand that. The wife has to chew, doesn’t she? In the time in which she’s chewing, why can’t he take a bite of his own food? Then while he’s chewing, he can give her the next bite.

I took care of my Elderly Blind Aunt for over a Decade.
When I took her out to eat I would cut up her Meal (steak, sausage, eggs...) if required and tell her where each Portion was on her plate. 10 o’clock, six o’clock etc.
When I first started doing it, she gave ma a ration because she felt embarrassed.
She lived by Herself and she was very Independent and Proud, so I had a heck of a time convincing her to let me do it. She never let her Blindness deter her.
Finally I won out and it made the entire experience much more pleasant since she didn’t have to struggle with it.
