Walter Jones was a Democrat from 1982-1994. Looks like he must have switched during the great GOP midterm sweep.

He might as well switch back now.

More:

The chairman did not tell the top Democrat on the committee about the meeting at the White House complex. It is highly unusual for a committee chairman and ranking member not to coordinate meetings related to an investigation.

Nunes argued he had to review classified, executive branch documents from a secure facility at the White House because the reports had not been provided to Congress and could not be transported to the secure facilities used by the House intelligence committee.

“Because of classification rules, the source could not simply put the documents in a backpack and walk them over to the House Intelligence committee space,” Nunes spokesman Jack Langer said. “The White House grounds was the best location to safeguard the proper chain of custody and classification of these documents, so the chairman could view them in a legal way.”

Nunes has declined to name the source of the information, nor will he disclose who invited him on the White House grounds for the meeting.

In addition to the White House itself, the grounds include an adjacent building with offices for National Security Council and other executive branch employees.

Nunes described the source as an intelligence official, not a White House official. In an interview on CNN, he suggested the president’s aides were unaware of the meeting.

He said Tuesday that he would “never” reveal his source

Jones is the only, that is single, Republican to ask the man to step aside.

From the article:

Jones told Fox News that Nunes is now “tainted” by the events and that he has written House Speaker Paul Ryan to demand a special committee to investigate the Russia probe.

“I'm frustrated by the fact that the American people have a right to know the truth,” he said. “Certain actions by the chairman have hurt the crediblity (sic) of the committee."

The incredible chutzpa of the Democrats — who have ignored Hillary's uranium transactions and the "wiretapping" identified by their own MSM — calling any Republican "tainted."

Nunes is getting real close. He needs to release his info sooner than later. Happened to see one of the msm networks “your world in 90 seconds” segments this morning. The stooges were faking like their hair was on fire. It’s all hands on deck from the deep state to ruin Nunes.

Up until now, I considered Walter Jones to be something of an erratic, grandstanding (R) goofball who hyperventilates a lot, but after seeing this thread, I consider Walter Jones to be an erratic, grandstanding (Uniparty) goofball who hyperventilates a lot.

I have yet to hear an actually compelling reason for him to recuse himself.

I don’t think Nunes actually has the information. It seems that he read through it at the White House but couldn’t just copy classified material and walk out the door with it.

The single most compelling reason they want Nunes to recuse is that he as the devastating goods that will kill their effort and likely several members of the criminal conspiracy

Dems don’t think they need an actual reason after Sessions caved at the first hint of criticism. If Nunes goes soft, the Dems will next be asking for the entire GOP caucus to resign, so they can take the govt by default.

Jones needs to be pounded into a mud puddle and shown just what blow back he is going to receive. 202-225-3415.

The committee has no credibility because there is no evidence of Russian - Trump collusion. And they’ve been looking for 8 months.

You are correct

But, he can’t testify. He can however issue a Subpoena To the authorized person having the information and get it into evidence

He likely won’t be the last. Watch McCain and Graham.

F'ing RINOs are going to result in the extinction of the Republican party, and deliver us into the hands of the far left.

There won't be many more chances, Pubbies -- you're screwing the pooch, bigtime. (make that 'bigly', as DJT would say...)
