Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Monday he’ll begin punishing sanctuary cities, withholding potentially billions of dollars in federal money — and even clawing back funds that had been doled out in the past.

Speaking at the White House, Mr. Sessions said his department is preparing to dole out more than $4 billion in funds this year, but will try prevent any of it from going to sanctuaries.

“Countless Americans would be alive today … if these policies of sanctuary cities were ended,” Mr. Sessions said.

He said he’s carrying out a policy laid out by the Obama administration last year, which identified three grant programs — the COPS grants, Byrne grants and State Criminal Alien Assistance Program money — that already require sanctuary certification.

Expect liberal judges (e.g., judges who have no respect for the law) to immediately file injunctions forcing payment.

Wanna bet?

No bet, you are probably right; plus, we have a Maryland Federal Judge who is considering ordering a doubling of the refugee flow for 2017. That order, if it comes, will be a clear declaration of war on the American people.

He said “claw back” of existing grants was possible.

He said he’s carrying out a policy laid out by the Obama administration last year, which identified three grant programs — the COPS grants, Byrne grants and State Criminal Alien Assistance Program money — that already require sanctuary certification.

The Obama administration didn’t end up enforcing that policy, but Mr. Sessions said he’ll begin.

IMHO, Sessions should make his primary focus on bringing heads of Obama’s machine and complacent GOP-e to justice.
Nothing is going to change until someone is fearful of doing prison time.

Right now, no one is afraid of DOJ other than illegals.

About time. Hit these Progressive insurgents where they live. If they are going to welcome in criminals, they get treated as accessories to the crime.

Some judge will rule that it’s unconditional and the cities should get double the amount.

Sessions seems like the first cabinet pick that actually came out from the back room and stood for something that Trump ran on.

I don’t want to hear Mattis trying to hire another Muslim brotherhood plant.

I want to hear the EPA issue a blanket waiver for the wall building on all environmental impact report requirements.

Well, he IS from the Senate. They’re used to receiving paychecks for doing absolutely nothing (nothing worth a damn, at any rate).

Every federal grant/loan contract requires compliance with federal law. Failure to comply has consequences such as withholding future funds and potential payback of funds already received.
