A civil war has begun.

This civil war is very different than the last one. There are no cannons or cavalry charges. The left doesn’t want to secede. It wants to rule. Political conflicts become civil wars when one side refuses to accept the existing authority. The left has rejected all forms of authority that it doesn’t control.

The left has rejected the outcome of the last two presidential elections won by Republicans. It has rejected the judicial authority of the Supreme Court when it decisions don’t accord with its agenda. It rejects the legislative authority of Congress when it is not dominated by the left.

It rejected the Constitution so long ago that it hardly bears mentioning.

Democracy IS a totalitarian system. The very reason the left calls themselves ‘democrats’. They are unmoored from the rule of law. Tyrannical little POS.

What state do you live in? Unless you don’t want people to know; you can include it in your profile. Folks tend to be curious about those kind of details that help understand where a person is coming from. For instance I would suspect you live in the Carolina’s or maybe a little further south but I have no way to know without asking you.

You seem to be quite thin skinned today for some reason. It’s your right of course but you could have spent your valuable time and good typing skills explaining your point rather than tearing someone down. Understanding your reasons for your position is much more likely to get someone to reconsider their position than calling them names and putting them down. In fact even if you did explain your position but then put someone down like that; you would have just erased any chance of a civil conversation with that person.

Well, if the Civil War is here, I say that it started Friday night when my 12 year old granddaughter, in the tradition of the soldiers in our family (Iwo Jima, VN, Iraq and Kosovo), told off a liberal woman wearing a Che Guevera t-shirt at a public family gathering place.

I was just a little younger than your daughter when I accompanied my dad, on his business assignment as a oil refinery engineer to the CalTex/Texaco refinery at Santa Clara. You are welocome to tell her that a veterano of that time and place welcomes her aboard and appreciates her effort

I think “berserk” is a word which only should be applied to McCain, not the highly-strung typists on FR. I agree 100% that there is no Right to Another Man's Life or the Fruits of His Life in our Constitution! Which means no one can tell a doctor who he must treat, what he can and cannot do to treat said individual, and certainly cannot pick the doctor's pocket because the law says you can. Since the 80's, and capitation, docs got squeezed between Medicare and malpractice claims and the best ones quit. Wonder why you can't find a good doc anymore?

I think that they're mostly fighting for the survival of their party presently. They have been beaten back hard over the past 8 years. They're wounded, scared, and desperate.

They'll do whatever it takes to keep the Democratic party alive.

Thanks for your concern. We are probably one of the best legally armed families south of the Mason Dixon line. My son was a federal police officer as well as combat veteran. My son-in-law is a combat vet.

Have others in the family who were or still are involved in law enforcement (I too was TDYed to fight crime). I’m still in touch with people in law enforcement or retired but in the arena in related projects.

Our little street is full of Iraq combat veterans - big trucks and big guns, and that’s just the women.

We always watch our backs and legally (CCP) carry when necessary. For some, all the time.

It is the illegals out there who are more dangerous than the local criminals. They are just fucking crazy and didn’t fear ICE until Trump came along. Tobacco Road has been relatively quiet recently.

A majority of boomers were never leftists

52 percent of 18-29 voted Nixon over McGovern

2008 67 percent voted Obama over Queeg

2012 61 percent voted Obama over Mitt

2016 55 percent voted Hillary over Trump

And on culture war today's under 40s are brainwashed for the whole enchilada

The only generalization about boomers is they had more premarital sex and divorced more and were more liberal than their folks but particularly their grandparents on culture

But they are more conservative than Xers and millennial etc
