Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) said it was not a “Christian thing” to build a border wall to stop undocumented immigrants from coming into the United States because he said they were “children of God” and, “They should be treated that way.”
Brown said, “The wall to me is ominous. It reminds me too much of the Berlin wall. When I see that 30-foot wall I worry somehow are they trying to keep me in or keep them out? I really think people ought to be careful because there’s a lot of odor here of kind of a strong man, a kind of a world where you want the ultimate leader here to be doing all of this stuff, and having a wall, locking the people in is one of those characteristics. I think America ought to be very careful when we make radical changes like a 30-foot wall keeping some in and some out.”

He added, “We are going to do the right, human and I would even say the Christian thing from my point of view. You don’t treat human beings like that. That is not what — Trump’s supposed to be Mr. Religious Fellow and I thought we had to treat the least of these as we would treat the Lord. So I hope he would reconnect with some of his conservative evangelicals and they’ll tell him that these are human beings and they’re children of God, they should be treated that way.”

As a kid, I worked with migrant workers. Many came in under the Bracero program. But even then southern California was experiencing an invasion, an invasion of undocumented families that came without permission, hit the welfare programs hard and soaked up the state's wealth. I have a niece that made a career as a bilingual teacher in the public school with a room full of kids that did not speak English.
Last time I visited there seemed to be more spanish speakers then english speakers. That was one set of invaders.
Now we have the invaders from the middle east. Both sets of invaders do not want to conform to American ways. They both want us to become them.

There are as many ways as there are translations to say the same thing. Sneak in, enter any other way than the designed way and you are there for no good. You are a robber and a thief. They aren’t my words, Jerry. They are the words of our Lord Jesus who is the Christ, found in John chapter 10 verse 1. It is the Lord who calls them thieves and robbers.
There are walls around both Jerusalem and New Jerusalem. There are pearl gates and no one gets in who doesn’t belong there. Walls and gates are obviously very important to God. So perhaps you need to go back to seminary Gov. Brown. It seems like you’ve failed Christianity 101.

Moonbeam needs to read the book of NEHEMIAH..the whole book is about building the wall around JERUSALEM in an amazing 50 plus day span and how organized it was I have preached from this book for its organizational elements and criticism as well from those mocking the wall...nothing has changed inthe 2500 years since...not one thing new under the son...even the opposition to Nehemiah was demonic and that has not changed either...LOL...
Jesus told us to obey the law where we live. The early Popes built a wall around their city. Building walls is a Christian thing to do, as is helping those who follow the law and stay on their own side of those walls.
