That’s gotta be BS. Obviously there were noteworthy changes in the bill otherwise why craft it as a replacement? I just don’t understand why there weren’t any competing bills to contemplate. Why all the focus to ram Ryan’s through?

Well those of us who get our insurance through work have no choice but to pay more. Our premiums and deductibles went up not long after Obamacare passed. Not to mention hubby was kicked off my plan after 20 years and is forced to buy through his employer which costs us at least $200 more per month right here. Not a happy camper here. Not happy at all. Quality of life has gone down noticeably and the glowing optimism of the 2016 Republican win proved short lived indeed.

Passing RyanCare would have been losing, too. The only win was to repeal. THEN fight about the replacement. When it’s gone, Congress may have some urgency to put in something that the people like. Right now dems don’t want to switch and Republicans don’t want to cut the cord completely.

I can see where that would be a problem, but even though that is a real problem, it’s also a blessing in a way, because you are employed.

The reason I can choose not to buy, I suppose, is because I am not employed. Too many health problems. No way for me to afford it.

With my pre-existing conditions, a policy would cost a fortune, and the deductibles would prevent me from ever using it most likely.

At the same time, I also have significant assets, so I don’t even go to .gov websites. I just kind of lay real low.

As far as happiness and quality of life go and glowing optimism of the 2016 win go, don’t base your happiness on that.

Take heart in that we headed off a Hillary Clinton presidency. Trump is a good and rare man. But is the GOP actually going to do anything?

Hell no. They never have and never will. They are pretenders. They have no accomplishments, no victories, nothing. The GOP is a black hole that consumes hope and happiness. Avoid them.

I get my happiness in this world from spending time with dogs and out in nature. It doesn’t cost too much money, and doing things like that really helps negative energy fall away.

There really is no point in spending our precious time in this world worrying about what Washington DC is going to do or not do. It’s an evil place.

“This sick party planned the whole thing to keep Obamacare, one way or the other.”

The House controls the budget process. The GOP has controlled the House since January 2011. They could have defunded it anytime since then but chose not to do so.

The GOP captured the Senate in 2014 and with that victory has controlled both houses of Congress since January 2015. They did pass and send to Obama’s desk a straight repeal bill which was vetoed. However, they made no attempt to defund Obamacare.

Since January 2017 the GOP has controlled both houses of Congress and the office of President. On Trump’s inauguration day, a majority party controlling Congress serious about repealing Obamacare would have put a a bill on the new president’s desk repealing Obamacare. It didn’t happen.

Conclusion. The GOP has never been serious about ending Obamacare for the citizens who vote for them. . However they do take seriously their obligations to the big donors. Hence we are where we are. Big pharma, big insurance, big hospitals, big medical groups, and all Democrat constituencies are happy.

Remember next time Rush Limbaugh, the Heritage Foundation, the RNC, the NRA and all of the faux conservative pundits tell you voting GOP makes a difference.

A full repeal requires 60 votes in the senate.

NO.IT.DOES.NOT. require 60 votes.

...

I can agree with that, especially on the part of Ryan. The Uniparty strategy is to slow down Trump and the draining of the swamp.

It wasn’t a repeal or a replacement, it was simply a rearranging and renaming of Obamacare.
A bad one.

My company had to drop a “Cadillac” plan because of Obamacare and my share of the premium went from $200 a month to $900 a month for worse coverage and a higher deductible.
I will never get that back.
I still want Obamacare repealed, completely.
Fedzilla derives great power from controlling all healthcare decisions and all medical records and the Uniparty eunuchs were trying to preserve that power.
They serve as attendants of Fedzilla not as representatives of the citizens.
Ryancare was not a repeal of Obamacare, it was a tinkering with it.

It’s all been posted here.
The language in Ryancare removed the documentation requirement so illegals could get in.
It retained 80% of Obamacare intact.
It did close off the exemption for Christian cost-sharing plans.

Yes Mr Ryan, we are still living with it. Due entirely to your abysmal work ethic and lack of leadership.

Step down.

Congressman Louis from Texas said when someone was drafting
the bill at the beginning ,no one was asked for the input. He didn’t know who gave the direction behind the scene.
