Trump's reputation was to start negotiations with 3x what he wants, and then he trades away things until he ends up with what he originally wanted.

If I had to guess, the Senate will make it more palatable, and it will be harder to rail against it once it passes the House. The President can distance himself from this matzo ball once it passes the House, and get really vocal about the deal breakers once it gets closer to being a law.
I still trust Trump. If he sees he can’t get what he wants, he will take what he can get. Because anything is better than nothing. You can only go up from there.

If Trump can’t bend our irredeemably corrupt and depraved political class to his will, he’s not the man I thought he was.
Perhaps he is still trying to play by the rules.
