District Attorney Seth Williams unlawfully reached into the bank account of his 84-year-old mother, siphoning more than $20,000 promised for her nursing home care, a federal grand jury says. In the indictment of Williams on Tuesday, the grand jury charges Williams with six counts of wire fraud, alleging that he use the money for restaurant tabs, mortgage payments and other personal expenses.
While the indictment says Williams, 50, took money from an unnamed relative, people familiar with the investigation have identified the relative as his mother, Imelda.

I don’t know about his parents, but I do know he’s been playing the race card since his days in college.
A long pattern of taking bribes and stuff was fine and perfectly routine, but by stealing from his own mother he crossed the line and had to be stopped.

He was paid $170,000 as the city’s top law enforcement officer; he supervised a huge staff of 300 assistant district attorneys, the feds wrote about Williams. But he couldn’t take enough free gifts. And when it came to taking free gifts, Williams was happy to do favors for the people who gave him money and free gifts.
Even if they were criminals. And even if he was abusing his official position to do favors for them, or their criminal friends.
“In the future always give me at least a week to help a friend,” Seth Williams wrote when Business Owner #1 asked for Seth’s help in lowering a prison sentence that the district attorney’s office had sought for a criminal who was a friend of the business owner’s.
