Why not, Trump was. I see we are going to attack Cruz because he rightfully points out that this POS ryancare bill is a POS? We are supposed to be happy with lipstick on a pig, with a supposed three stage plan to fix the democrats feces with the third phase the one that would actually do something good requiring democrat votes that they will never get for it to pass? Repeal the POS, that was the promise Trump ran on, what he was elected on, not fixing it!
Yes, the Ryan Rino health care bill is a pos but Ted is a nerd
The elections over, Trump won and Cruz has been helping him a lot, but first and foremost Cruz was elected to represent the people who put him in office, that is his first duty, not to be a rubber stamp for what any President wants no matter how bad. I am sure Cruz has discussed with Trump what he feels needs to be done to the bill, we can wait a little longer for this to be done right. Otherwise why didn't we just vote democrat?
I presume you mean Rand Paul? And the OP is a steaming crock of raw sewage.
I agree. I was unhappy with Ted during the election but we all need to move on. Ted Cruz is coming out as a force to move the healthcare debate in the right direction and there is plenty of time for him to redeem himself by future actions. Why would we disdain his efforts?
Every morning when I awake, I thank God that Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are standing against the abomination known as RyanCare.
It’s unfathomable to me that President Trump supports Paul Ryan’s Obamacare Lite, pretending that it somehow even comes close to Trump’s promises to repeal and replace obamacare. As late as six weeks ago I heard President Trump say that it would take as long as early 2018 to have a workable bill. Why he’ going along with Paul Ryan’s garbage bill is nearly beyond my imagination.
Hopefully, we can then use normal budget processes to fix the rest to completely free market solutions.
Jump starting the economy will get more people jobs and off of the 0care roles, making that future sell much easier.
RE: I would hesitate to offer Medicaid for all without a means test. If the world were filled with stand up types its a great plan.
OK, I’d be all ears regarding the means test. How much in your opinion, should one earn to qualify for Medicaid?
Well, I was a Cruz supporter during the primaries and didn't really focus on candidate Trump because his schtick turned me off. After Trump won the candidacy, he got my vote, since I would never sit out and give Hitlery a chance at the White House.
I've been watching our President Trump more closely, ignoring his idiosyncrasies, and concentrating on his actions and sober speeches to Congress, the Republicans and the American public about what he wants to accomplish, and I see him in a different light.
I think he has a good heart and honestly believes Ryan will work in good faith to fix Obamacare....and that this bill is the only way to accomplish it.
Unfortunately, I think he is placing his faith in the wrong quarters.
We can only hope that Cruz, Lee, Paul, Meadows and others hold the line against this bill because I think it will only make things worse, not better.
Tad Cruuuuuz!!!
It would tie in with what one is allowed to earn to get food stamps, housing allowance etc. The level of income is not important to me nor whether there is a sliding scale of subsidy. I would almost rather it was just a yes/no because that would save on bureaucratic nonsense even if it might enlarge the pool.
My point is that there needs to be a means test so that people with yachts, corvettes and summer homes don’t decide to go barebacked because someone else will pay the freight. Its just the wrong message. People need to be responsible for their own care unless they are for some reason unable to.
Shiva, sometimes you need to think for yourself and not be a mind numbed robot.
Not always a good sign when all there is, is nothing but a threat.
The Dems used pork to get bills passed.
Doesn't your town need a new clinic?
Apologies.
Yes. Should have read Ted Cruz and RAND PAUL are heroes for fighting Ryancare.
Apologies.
Very funny.
Do you like that Kool Aide sweetened or unsweetened?
Nice call. After reading the management amendment from 3/21, this bill screws VETERANS. Thank God for Rep Meadows, the only one to speak out about this. Trump n the GOP, left me long ago and now they are singling out VETERANS receiving subsidies, but other folks on subsidies get top care. This bill needs to die today. I won’t stop talking to veterans about being targeted for substandard care.
We need this ‘win’ to set the stage for the many ‘wins’ to come. Graham and Cruz must NOT do the prima donna bit. It’s not attractive. They need to get on board with our President...
