Beloved Texan Freeper, Tom Eaker (Eaker on FR), has left us.

My memories of Tom: He was a ruff, gruff fellow who had a heart of gold. He’d always do the guy-thing, one-upping you, in a playful manner. He cared very much about humblegunner and visited often. He was a stellar man in every way.

I didn’t know him, but my sincerest condolences go out to his family and close friends. No matter the circumstances, it is always tough to lose a loved one or someone close to you. I hope that they can all derive solace from the kind of life he led, and the laughs and lessons that they shared with him - they are all undoubtedly better off for having known and having shared time with him.

I’m reminded of Jamey Johnson singing “Lead Me Home”, and hope that song was on Eaker’s heart as he passed.
