Paul Manafort denies links to Russia after FBI director's testimony

President Trump’s former campaign chairman on Monday denied any ties to or contact with the Russian government after the FBI confirmed it is investigating Trump allies’ alleged links to Moscow.

Paul Manafort said he “had no involvement” in Russia’s intervention in the 2016 presidential elections, including its email hacking of prominent Democratic groups and figures, and never spoke to Russian officials who claimed to be involved.

“The suggestion that I ever worked in concert with anyone to release hacked emails or sought to undermine the interests of the United States is false,” he said in a statement.

The former top Trump campaign aide broke a period of silence after FBI James Comey made the explosive revelation about the Russia inquiry earlier Monday while testifying before the House Intelligence Committee

I believe him. I think Comey is a lying backstabbing cheat that should be put in prison for his criminal activities. He won’t stop this partisan crap and there is not one good reason to allow him to stay in that office for one more day.

Meanwhile, Hillary, Bill, the Clinton Foundation, etc... had 20 times more contact with Russia than the Trump team had. Fake news persists.

Why is it an ‘explosive revelation!!!!’? Hasn’t everyone been screaming for an investigation for months now? So, they should be happy the FBI is conducting one.

Freshman Congressman Elise Stefanik was the only Repub showing a spine at the hearings. She bored in on Comey.

The rest of the spineless Repubs---including Gowdy---completely missed the significance of what Elise elicited: that the criminal Comey said he has had an investigation of the Trump campaign going since July 2016 and didn't disclose it until a few minutes ago into the hearing.

BOOM.

Comey was smirking and dancing away from the questions, dismissing them blithely.........reinforcing his agenda: a massive "investigation"...... his attempt to take down Trump - on behalf of the Clintons.

=============================================

At one point, Gowdy turned to look at Elise, to try to stop her....maybe intimidate her....as she expertly exposed Comey.

Gowdy is getting to be so dam annoying. He lost his creds when he caved in to Hillary's demands....and let her walk on the Benghazi atrocity.

He'll try anything to recapture the headlines.

Elise was stealing the spotlight....and he apparently didn't like it.

Nah they will never let him escape unscathed
Eve though Manafort, who worked for Trump for free, walked away from the Trump campaign once the GOP nomination was prevented from being stolen by Cruz-bot and Soros-assisted legal maneuvers to change delegate votes

Just because Manafort did legal work for a Ukrainian group that is pro-Russian - imagine that since at least 1/3 of the population feels more connected to Russia than to the current Ukraine government which is corrupt, Russophobic, and shelling civilians in eastern Ukraine in an effort to dislodge separatist rebels (who, while being assisted with Russian volunteers, advisors and weapons, are all being called “invading Russian troops”)

meanwhile Podesta group gets $900,000 in lobby money directly and openly from Russian Government bank in past 3 years!!

I find it funny that the one guy who unquestionably DID interfere in the US election was sitting right in front of the committee yesterday: James Comey. Twice he wrote letters regarding the criminal investigation of one of the candidates.

Nobody has produced a scintilla of proof that the Russians did anything to affect the electio, but Jame Comey absolutely did!

Comey has to go. Double-speak seems to be all he is capable of. What about the FISA warrants? Good grief! I think freepers could do a much better job getting to the bottom of what happened.

The FBI never investigated the DNC email breach - the DNC denied access.

The FBI relied on a report provided by a company hired by the DNC.

That company is funded by Clinton associate Timothy Geithner, to the tune of $100M.

That company’s report relied in part on the claims of a Russian blogger.

Swamp media/fake news is reporting that Comey said there is no wiretapping of Trump or the campaign.

That is a lie.

The fact is Comey was never asked directly: was Trump or the campaign wiretapped? The closest question is: did Obama have Trump wiretapped.

> Just because Manafort did legal work for a Ukrainian

So did Tad Devine, Bernie Sanders adviser.

Both Manafort and Devine consulted for Victor Yanukovych. Not a peep about Devine, yet Manafort is attacked. Why is that?

More DNC “red scare” projection/deflection.

The absolute last thing the socialist-democrats want is for the spotlight to be focused on hill-billary and obama’s reset buttons, flexibility after elections, and shady uranium deals.
