Michael Picker stood in the freezing cold outside of the Environmental Protection Agency early Thursday morning passing out fliers that read, Come work for California. Fight climate change.
Picker was far away from his home in Sacramento, where he is the president of California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), for meetings with the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. He decided to try to recruit demoralized EPA staffers, who are facing deep program cuts and controversial new leadership. The EPA's new administrator, Scott Pruitt, has a long record of opposing the agency's work.
Picker hopes to entice them to work for a state government with one of the most ambitious climate goals in the country. California is looking to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030. The flyers pointed people to a webpage to sign up for more details.....

.....The verdict is still out on if this approach is the most effective solution for the state's recruitment challenges. But after his long day on Wednesday, Picker seems to have sympathy for the federal workers in DC. "I feel bad for them," Picker says about the Department of Energy staffers. "I noticed some folks coming in late."

I think there is real value in having all the nuts in one basket.
Sure hope they're not using governmental funding or offices to commit extortion [Hobbs Act} or fraud. That could get CA federal racketeering lawsuits for triple damages, maybe even the court-ordered removal from office of some of the criminal [perpetrators. but of course the courts can also appoint trustees or administrators to run the state until honest elections in which foreign citizens do not vote can be held.

You're fired!
Off hand, I don’t know of any, really, but I could be wrong. His trips have been more out into ‘real’ America in my opinion.
Nah. Just declare most of the state the new Cxalifornia National Forest. Except LA and San Francisco.
They get to be impact areas for new naval gunnery ranges.
California will stew in its own juice.
It would be interesting to see the billing log for Eric Holder and the services he has rendered as California’s lobbyist in DC.
I really do wish the more conservative areas of California well. If you took just the ones that cause the trouble, they are mostly confined to the densely populated coastal regions of infestation.
Regardless, I still have not lost anything in the state as a whole and am completely against bailing it out under any circumstances. They will have to sink or swim. As far as I’m concerned we can increase the size of gulf and southeastern state ports to handle whatever imports the US takes.
Good. I hope many of the Greenies in Northern VA relocate. Perhaps then Virginia has a chance of becoming a red state.
Their main weapon to fight the climate is a BULLET train.
Ahead of the curve. State of Jefferson.

“Liberish?”
Stealing it! :)
Awesome!!! Win win win, CA is where they belong-and then Calexit-cmon baby!
This is fascinating. According to the hiring guidelines volume of the California laws: It includes discrimination based on a perception that a person is a member of a protected class or is associated with a person who is, or is perceived to be, a member of a protected class. The law also prohibits employers from making any non-job-related inquiry of applicants or employees that directly or indirectly expresses a limitation, specification, or discrimination about any protected characteristic.

California has, for far too long, screwed over the rest of the USA.
How? For years, CA libs have pushed radical environmental policy that libs in other states readily gobbled up for use on the rest of the country. “As California goes, so goes the nation” mentality.
The time is rapidly drawing near for them to set a new example once they go bellyup: how to rise from the burning liberal ashes by their own bootstraps with no help or bailout from the other states that they’ve been screwing over for years. Karma is a great thing.
