Drugs are killing so many people in Ohio that cold-storage trailers are being used as morgues
Washington Post ^ | March 16, 2017

By about 3 p.m. Friday, a county morgue in east Ohio was already full — and more bodies were expected.

Rick Walters, an investigator for the Stark County coroner's office, had just left for two death scenes: a suicide and an overdose.

From the road, he called the director of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to ask for help. He needed more space, he explained — specifically, a cold-storage trailer to act as an overflow morgue.

As with much of the United States, Ohio is in the throes of a heroin and opioid epidemic that shows no signs of abating.

"If only America would give up that war on drugs everything would be unicorns and rainbows."

Please explain why anyone should care. They are STUPID!!! Better, they are DEAD!!! The world won't miss them. All the WoD is doing is providing price supports for the products of the drug lords in Mexico.

It's a form of Eugenic Cleansing. They are sparing someone the unpleasant task of blowing their brains all over a ditch. Ask yourself. Who is dying, and how many of them voted for HRC?

Trashy people all tatted up.
Neck tats, piercings everywhere.
Dumbasses that don’t even even have a clue how to even somewhat belong in society...
not all...the rest are just gullible and stupid.

Exactly. It’s almost impossible to get any Pain meds because of the Puritans.

Pretty soon, even cancer patients won’t be able to get any pain medication. Ridiculous.

“It seems odd to me that in 2017 that there are so very many people who still do not know that Heroin is evil. Has not any one heard the song GD the pusher man by stepenwolf?! Is the inner city that pathetic? Or Am I missing out on the real picture here?!”

I think you have to consider; In 2017 there are more people who know less about anything and everything than you and I can imagine. It is not necessarily innate stupidity; but the residue of a school refocus on non-history, the advent of sewage-brained social media, and a media that has pummeled kids with the idea that aspiration itself is racist. Even the media relentlessly pounding on Trump is an existential downer, eg; “we’re doomed”.

Don’t tell me these things do not have a cumulative negative effect on these kids. (I know you would not say that) And they’ve never heard of Steppenwolf. Count on it.

Increase DEA enforcement in everyones lives.

Sadly, there are a number of FRidiots who would support such a thing.

sugar is evil, alcohol is evil and so on and so for. people know it and they want it anyway for pleasure or because they are weak. i have been addicted to star all my life and now it’s killing me. people get high and do this stuff for many reasons. It is a folly to pass laws to try to stop people from getting high or seeking pleasure. Fortunately my addiction is legal for now.

Heroin being evil was probably the first thing i ever learned as a child.
Growing up it would be the LAST thing that i ever would consider doing.

What goes through these idiots minds the first time that it is presented to them?

So stupid that maybe they deserve their fates..

If they would just legalize it, the problem would stop!

Isn’t that right Colorado?

I well remember being told as a nurse in the early 2000’s that pain was “undertreated” and opioids were “underprescribed.” As a nurse with already 20+ years of clinical experience I knew this was a prescription (no pun intended) for disaster. But I had no idea it would end up as bad as it has.

Of the worst kind.

The company that sells oxy and roxys lost a 600 million dollar law suit because it was proven that they lied about the safety of sustained release oxy.

Turns out it’s quite addictive itself.

And a LOT of money was paid to politicians to get the FDA to somehow change the decades long policy of using it only for cancer patients to giving it to anybody with a back pain or pulled muscle.

THEN when people got addicted, they found out heroin was a lot LOT cheaper.

A 5 dollar co pay for 120 30mg roxys goes for 3,600 dollars on the street.

Don’t know who’s sleazier when it comes to lying, the tobacco industry or the pharma industry.

Here’s where someone will tell me how it costs a billions to get a drug to market or talk about personal responsibility.

With what is known today about smoking, I agree.

What was known in the ‘30s through the ‘60s, I don’t.

And if you are taking a sustained release pain killer that you were told was not addictive and you get addicted, that is not your fault.

I have talked to a few heroin users all claim that the first time is absolute euphoria, the greatest feeling that you could ever imagine.
the second time, the 3rd not as good as the 2nd and you end up chasing that original feeling up until you find yourself 6 feet under.

I would love to experience such a thing and often thought about it but not at that price....jeez.
Real life is hard enough as it is.

JCHAO, the Feds and “ patient satisfaction scores” had a big part in it. They twisted our arms to treat pain aggressively. Lots of us warned them. The clipboards and the managers knew better.
