Russia moving special forces into Libya

U.S., Egyptian and diplomatic sources say that Russia has apparently been moving special forces to an airbase in western Egypt near the border with Libya in recent days, according to a report by Reuters.

The U.S. is concerned that such a Russian deployment may signify Russian support for Libyan military commander Khalifa Haftar, who suffered a setback on March 3 when the Benghazi Defense Brigades (BDB) attacked oil ports controlled by his forces.

U.S. officials claimed that their surveillance units had observed Russian special operations forces and unmanned aircraft at Sidi Barrani, which is about 100 km from the Egypt-Libya border. The apparent Russian deployments have not been previously reported.

The Russian defense ministry did not respond to these claims on Monday and Egypt denied the presence of any Russian contingent on its soil.

This is Russia & Eyjpt working to put a military strongman in charge of Libya before ISIS gets strong enough to take over.

>This would be the height of recklessness for Egypt but Trump needs to draw a line in the sand with Russia and get them under control. They are going to take all they can as long as they are unchallenged. Very serious business.

Libya been a long time ally of the Russians and they’re working on restoring order in the country(another strong man). You can argue that Libya is now ours but we haven’t created any type of order in the country despite owning it for what, 6 years now?

This actually makes perfect sense in fulfilling Ezekiel 38 & 39 since ancient Put is Libya.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bah. Forget the most frequently abused (Jewish...) prophesy.
The questions to ask are:
1) Why did Rome/Edom/Esau/Christianity overthrow and kill Gadaffi/Libya?...We came, we saw, he died, hahahahahaha cackle? And here’s a WEIRD COINCIDENCE - that’s a perversion of ‘I came, I saw, I conquered’ used in the ROMAN Senate.
2) Would Russkie Special Forces be there if US Special Farces..weren’t?
3) Why ARE US Spec Farces killing and shitting all over MENA countries surrounding Israel? HMMMMM?
Khadafy had made a deal with the Bush administration. He gave up his WMD programs, stopped supporting terrorists and cooperated with us against Al Qaeda. Then Obama and Hillary double crossed him and sided with the jihadis. If anything it proves once again that America is an unreliable ally. He would have done better allying with Putin.
The problem with removing a cancerous dictator is you don’t really know what will come in next to fill the void.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Actually that’s EXACTLY why the CIA removes/kills foreign leaders - because they know who will replace them (that’s the goal...) Witness the ‘unexpected and we just can’t defeat them rise of ISIS across the ME.

Weird huh? or exactly the plan...

Erdogan is a mess. He seems to change his mind often, sometimes contradicting himself.

If I’m off target there, folks can step in and tell me and I won’t take offense.

Seems to me he’s playing the E.U., Russia, and the U.S. to advantage.

I agree he is a problem. Unfortunately he has an organized and strong army.

“Khadafy should have been nicer to us. Same with Saddam. Paid the ultimate price.”

It’s literally impossible to have perfection. Khadafy & Saddam were are from being angels, but they did much to keep the region stable.

The multitudes of wars beginning with Bush’s Iraq/Afghanistan then on to obama/Clinton’s perpetual middle east warfest has killed thousand upon thousands of people, including precious US military people. Not to mention the waste of money. With regards to refugees, the west will be paying for this for centuries.

This waring BS has got to end. We are not the world peace keepers.

So are there anyone good guys there? Would Haftar be someone we should be working with, or someone we should be working against, or does it really not make much difference? Would the Russians supporting him be a good thing or a bad thing or really a non-issue?

Whoever the Egyptians and Russians think is the horse to back in the race is probably the best among suboptimal choices for Libyan leadership

Can’t blame the Egyptians for calling in the Russians after the vacuum in US leadership over the past 8 years

I have no idea what American foreign policy is anymore. I am not an isolationist by any stretch but now look back to even WWII and its aftermath stretching to today. What has been the cost in dollars: trillions? What has been the cost in blood: millions? What has the United States gained by never declaring war anymore? With congress and their thumbs you know where, Presidents, State Department, CIA, Senators etc run our military forces and defense policy into illogical conflict with no oversight. Meanwhile the Norks and Iran may eventually get lucky and incinerate an American city while we police the world.

Sure can.

Is it likely to invade Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, or Israel? It has attacked each of them.

Are it’s people in fear of being lined up and shot dead into a ditch?

Are the current leaders and their family abducting women, doing as they please with them, and killing their husbands for kicks?

Are the Kurds in danger of being attacked with Chemical weapons?

Is it’s leader paying $25,000 to the families of suicide bombers in Israel?

Has it’s leadership been making public announcements to the media that it supports global terrorist every way it can?

It will help a lot having someone who will say no to the terrorist groups.

Then if they won’t accept it, just kick the snot out of them.

You don’t need nukes, but a couple of those large bunker buster or aerosolized fuel bombs will make the terrorists know we mean business.

Wipe a few groups off the face of planet earth, or at least find body parts 25 miles away, it tends to play on a guy’s mind...

Medo-Persia. That was still a future prophecy when Daniel reported it to Nebuchadnezzar.
