Russia moving special forces into Libya

U.S., Egyptian and diplomatic sources say that Russia has apparently been moving special forces to an airbase in western Egypt near the border with Libya in recent days, according to a report by Reuters.

The U.S. is concerned that such a Russian deployment may signify Russian support for Libyan military commander Khalifa Haftar, who suffered a setback on March 3 when the Benghazi Defense Brigades (BDB) attacked oil ports controlled by his forces.

U.S. officials claimed that their surveillance units had observed Russian special operations forces and unmanned aircraft at Sidi Barrani, which is about 100 km from the Egypt-Libya border. The apparent Russian deployments have not been previously reported.

The Russian defense ministry did not respond to these claims on Monday and Egypt denied the presence of any Russian contingent on its soil.

This actually makes perfect sense in fulfilling Ezekiel 38 & 39 since ancient Put is Libya.

The media has been obsessed with the false "Trump and the Russians" narrative for months.

Little do they know what Russia is actually up to.

This would be the height of recklessness for Egypt but Trump needs to draw a line in the sand with Russia and get them under control. They are going to take all they can as long as they are unchallenged. Very serious business.

Obama and Clinton absolutely destroyed Libya, for God only knows what evil reasons.

Its now a jihadi haven and source of millions of illegal immigrants.

I don’t blame any nation that needs to protect its interests there after the total chaos Obama and Clinton caused.

I don’t see why we should care. Libya is nothing to us. And Russia is not actually able to expand and hold foreign lands.

For about 100 years the US has been getting into wars which we should not get into. I grant that fighting Japan after Pearl Harbor made sense. The rest of it? Those wars have helped the elitists but hurt the country. Libya? Ppppffffffttt!

All the folks that trashed me for saying we should have left well enough alone and not backed those who took Khadafi out, this is one of the problems with not leaving alone, things that are not a current problem.

Soros money went to help the insurgents. So did U. S. government money and arms.

Nice work Soros/Obama/McCain/Graham/Clinton.

Now we have one more hot-spot in the region.

For many many reasons we should care. To not care would be a mistake.

Gaddafi himself said if he was overthrown that Libya would flood Europe and the West with Africans and Muslim Terrorists.

It happened. It’s still happening.

I’ve been trashed by those same isolationists. Oh well! They’ll be eating crow soon enough when it impacts them.

Khadafy should have been nicer to us. Same with Saddam. Paid the ultimate price.

I wouldn’t call them isolationists.

They actually thought it was a great idea to remove Khadafi.

I thought the Muslim Brotherhood would be as bad as he was if not worse.

Isolationists are another problem. There are times when we have to go in. Libya wasn’t one of them, and we had no business butting funding and arms in to the terrorists.

The problem with removing a cancerous dictator is you don’t really know what will come in next to fill the void.

Better the devil you know. Same argument could be made about Saddam Hussein. Or Bashar al Assad.

Good luck. I’ve noticed over the years that our resident arm chair isolationists aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed.

Khadafi learned his lesson when Reagan put him on notice.

When we went after Hussein, he handed over his nuclear weapons program. He got the message.

For that reason alone, Iraq may have been worth it. Imagine Khadafi with nukes.

Hussein was a known pariah with his own people. He gassed the Kurds and killed other citizens on a whim. He and his sons were notorious.

As for Assad, he wasn’t my favorite, but he seems to have been fairly decent to his people. He got pretty vicious when the fighting started intent on toppling him, but what government around the world would act differently?

Hussein, I’m pretty much on board with removing. Iraq is a better place for it, and it’s neighbors are better off.

Assad? Khadafi? We should have kept out of those messes.

Khadafi had done plenty over the years to earn a ticket to the glue factory, but he had settled down and wasn’t a problem.

It wasn’t my belief we would gain by letting terrorists take over. Egypt didn’t by it either, after the fact.

Good. Let’s hope the USA and Russia are working together to eliminate the islamic threat and filth that has prospered under bad leadership.

Yeah the US tried that many times over and we eventually always got dragged into damn wars.

Hitler himself said that had Britain and her allies marched on him during the Sudetenland occupation of Czechoslovakia, he’d have had to turned around and run back with his tail between his legs.

The blood isolationists have on their hands well outweighs the war-mongering hawks.

BS. Under the past USA leadership islamic trash has pilfered and ravaged too much of the world. Either we help Russia tame it or GTFO of the way.

Russians love their children too.

All these regime changes have yet to play out.
Until Islam is destroyed, those areas are all going to be run by sick sociopaths in one form or another.

Erdogan is the next one rising and it seems he’s got Russian backing (for now).
