WASHINGTON (AP) Fourteen million Americans would lose coverage next year under House Republican legislation remaking the nation's health care system, and that figure would grow to 24 million by 2026, Congress' nonpartisan budget analysts projected Monday. The figures dealt a blow to a GOP drive already under fire from both parties and large segments of the medical industry.

FAKE NEWS.
And the free market and competition problem with this is????
How about lets first take the bold step of getting the GOVERNMENT out of the insurance business.
The nation cannot afford to provide unlimited free healthcare to millions of able bodied men and women and have a robust healthy economy at the same time.
Is it fair to extort money from workers by jacking their premiums and deductibles sky high so the money can be used to provide free healthcare to millions and millions of able bodied moochers?
If the republicans push a plan like this one through they aren’t keeping their word to kill Obamacare.
They are just making a few changes and giving it a new name.
This rebranding of Obamacare, with news of millions losing coverage, is a total disaster. Why can’t congress pass repeal to end Obamacare at the end of the current policy cycle (end of year). Then build a replacement based on consumer choice and basic rights—national coverage, not state, no pre-existing, buy what you want, use doctors of your choice, etc. Basic patient bill of rights, minimal entry requirements for insurance companies. Let them compete. Then, figure out what to do with people certifiably not able to buy coverage. Fix that. The tweak of Obamacare that is instead offered up is BAD NEWS. Who wants or can defend kicking millions off coverage. Wrong message. Stupid. Like they want to fail.
According to FAIRUS.org, Texas paid out $1.9 BILLION in 2013 for healthcare alone for illegal immigrants. Would hate to even think what it was in 2016.
No problem at all. If an employer wants to OFFER insurance to employees, more power to ‘em.
I’m saying they shouldn’t be FORCED by government to offer it.
What does “coverage” mean with a $10,000 deductible? You may have “insurance” but you can’t get health care.
CNN headline: “300 million to lose health care!!”
“And the free market and competition problem with this is????”
Amen! Working for a company with excellent health benefits was an incredible recruiting edge/tool.
We could hire competitive workers to come to our company because of the better health insurance.
Then, the bean counters reversed and nullified this edge, and our company began to lose good people to competitors.
How can this bill even be “scored”. The bill is still being worked on and it will roll out over 3 phases. The bill still has to go to the Senate and you know there will be changes there. I am at a loss as to how they can score it with any accuracy.
And millions more will remain on Medicaid....
Another long-lost American greatness is what we called charity — church charity. Sometimes churches would seriously take the health care of many indigent people under their wings, in part of a comprehensive Christian witness.
Insurance as we know it now tends to be a spiritually sterile thing.

Amen to that.
I have posted about one of our female in laws, whose husband had a great Caddy policy. She was a best patient/customer for a derm, who did all types of beauty enhancements and zero health benefit procedures. His insurance picked up most of the charges.
My wife tried to warn her with ObamyCare, that wasn’t to work anymore. After the first 3 month of bills were not paid, she started to wake up.
She then, eliminated the non health care visits and cut their out of pocket expenses.
Last year my wife told her to in with her NE Italian moxie and try to negotiate a reasonable charge with payment on each visit. It worked.
Now her previous several thousand a year costs are a few hundred $’s for basically the same amount. She has apparently worked out some referral rebate program with the Docs.
I have always wondered how much of this was about coverage for AIDS as a preexisting condition.
This will be repeated endlessly.
Well the question should be will they still be able to purchase insurance coverage? Will it be based on their health care needs? Does lack of insurance coverage always = no health care access?
Congressional Budget Analysts. Ahahahahahahahahahahaheeheeheeheehohohoho
