Hurry up with that damn wall.
oh please we go all the time never a problem we stay in the tourist areas or with tours from the cruise ships
I spent a week at Cabo a few years ago. We ventured out once, and spent the rest of our vacation at the Hilton. Not safe.
Los Cabos Is only a resort until the drug cartel resorts to chopping off your head.
The road leading to the airport had the rusting and/or burnt out carcasses of many destroyed cars along its length some years ago. As if the authorities simply pushed the wrecks off the right of way after every accident. And left them there.
Pray for and support the many Christian missionaries who are bringing God’s Word to the people of Mexico and planting new churches throughout the provinces. Pray for the native pastors being raised up to continue those churches into the future. It is very risky to be a believer in Mexico today.
We loved Cabo San Lucas when we went there on a cruise, and I’d go again in a second!
I rented a house on the east cape road a couple years ago. Right on the ocean, got it cheap because of fear. Best vacation ever! The tourist trap of Cabo was obnoxious the one day I went there. I felt safe, lots of Mexicans celebrated Easter on the beach. Friendly and when they left there wasn’t so much as a gum wrapper left behind.
We need to INVADE and secure safety for our citizens!!Enough is enough.
Twenty + years ago wife and I spent a few days there. Federales stopped the bus from the airport and came on with SMGs at the ready.
We did have to walk a ways at night from a restaurant to where the resort shuttle pickup was. No incident, not even a glance, but it was a bit nervous. Being big does not help when the predators are all armed.
I cannot believe the people I know that still go to Mexico on vacation, unreal.
Drove from Orange Cty Ca to Cabo San Lucas in 91. Stayed for 4 or 5 days to see the longest total eclipse in many many years. The drive was very interesting and enjoyable. Would never think of doing it again.
“No person with brains would vacation in Mexico again. Hurry up with that damn wall.”
It saddens, me, but you are exactly right.
It was my FAVORITE place to go to re-charge and relax in the 80’s and 90’s. 2000 was my LAST trip.
Ever.
I vacationed in Cabo last June and loved it. We stayed at an all inclusive resort that was beautiful, and the staff was exceptional. We did venture off to go sailing one day and that was enjoyable as well. We did notice that the area was having a building boom. We were told it was drug cartels fueling the building. That makes you stand up and take notice.
That lower California peninsula, Baja California has not suffered as much in all this mayhem as the main country itself. I’d almost say they’ve been unscathed so perhaps it changes now.
It is overwhelmingly lowlifes, gang bangers and druggies killing each other - like in US inner cities. The biggest danger to US tourists is to young Spanish speaking Americans who get involved with these gangsters socially.
Mexico overall is still nice and safe for tourists. The dollar goes further than it did just a couple of months ago - almost 20 to 1 for the Mexican Peso. Some beautiful resorts.
The best dive I ever had was off Cabo - in the middle of a huge school of sardines, which surrounded me like a solid wall of silver.
This is the first I have heard of anything like this in the Cabo area. Like said above, things are changing.
I got the message in 1998, after many years.
Just hanging out in the touristy areas is a fake solution. The only thing that can't be duplicated elsewhere safer is the weather.
That is a mighty broad brush you are painting with!
Mexico is a big place.
Since Mrs. BN & I will be spending one night in Chetumal, MX and three in Playa del Carmen soon, I guess our lobotomist got carried away during our last operations.
Of course, we once lived in Chicago, "The Murder Capital of the US", so I guess our insanity got started 46 years ago.
Actually, it started when I was a 6 year old kid living off DuPont Circle in Washington, DC, I was chased home by another kid brandishing a meat cleaver. Mom relieved him of the meat cleaver.
LOL
(I hope this rejoinder was not TOO snarky!)

Well and truly said. But think about this: There are an increasing number of vacation venues worldwide, including here in the USA and in Europe where people will no longer risk visiting because of street crime and terrorist attacks. I myself just cancelled plans for an extended trip to the Scandinavian countries for that very reason. Tourism throughout western Europe has taken a nosedive with the resulting loss of many millions of euros thanks to the immigration policies of the EU and that moronic bitch governing Deutschland.
