It's a legislature for God's sake!
What, not so much as a comma can be altered? It's perfect just as it is and any change would disrupt the "delicate balance" that they cobbled together in secret?? They couldn't allow any thorough debate or amendment in committee??
It was released on Monday, voted on in committee on Wednesday and Thursday, and now members are being threatened if they vote no on the floor, even though their input is not being allowed in the rush??
As usual, the Establishment, that is, the Ruling Oligarchy is expending all its efforts to create a single, up or down vote, and only on what THEY want.
Sickening!!
Country Club CCRs
The real question is, why are Republicans responsible for replacing something that they never voted for to begin with?
Just have a simple repeal vote. If that fails, meh...then everyone in Washington should be forced to sign up for Obamacare then until it crashes.
Republicans are going to eff around and lose the House in 2018 over this crap.
It can as long as it doesn’t change the costs because it is a reconciliation on an existing law and would only 51 votes in senate.
Ryancare was written by K Street. They’re not allowed to change anything.
It’s obvious that Ryan and the GOP don’t want the power we’ve given them.
Time to take it away.
you want to see everyone move?
The reconciliation move that should be passed is congress, their staff, and all government workers are subject to Obama care until it is fixed or collapses
Who wrote the rules on this? Are the rules more important than a law which is unconstitutional (despite the bastard Roberts who essentially rewrote the bill) and which will bankrupt America and destroy the health industry? That bastard Lyin’ Ryan has got to go. Whose interests is he serving? Not the American people.
K street. They paid the piper. They call the tune.
Did anyone expect that GOPe was going to do anything but roll around in lobbyist Moolah. They can't help themselves. It's what they do.
If you want to keep Obamacare then yes it can be amended. If you want to scrape as much of the ACA as can be done with 51 votes in the senate, then no it can’t be amended, remember this is a reconciliation bill, not fillibuterable.
Honestly don’t understand the kerfuffle, the 2nd bucket, Price’s regulation rollback will have a bigger impact. And once 1 and 2 are done the dimmocraps will be forced into voting on rebuilding a new system or be blamed for the publics loss of healthcare.
I thought the bill was being “marked up” in committee.
So we don't have 60 votes for a repeal, but we somehow will magically have it in Phase #2 and Phase #3? That's pure horsefeces.
Either Obamacare is repealed completely or it should be enforced and everyone from Washington on down must sign up for it. There is no moderate or middle-ground here.
It doesn’t matter!! Trump will never win the nomination!!
ryan == pelosi lite
Some craziness about how Senate rules mean they have to use a “reconciliation” process so they can get around the 60-vote problem. Over the last half-century or so, the filibuster has gotten so way out of hand that it now defeats the purpose of elections.
It seems easy. Just vote down Obamacare, authorize insurance companies to write policies in every state, and let them offer the plans. Hell, you’d think health insurance was a new concept.
It’s time for Ryan to hit the road. . .running. We need a a real leader to take charge.
This is EXACTLY what should happen can POTUS do this with an EO???
Phase 2 doesn’t require congress. Once Phase 1 passes”
the original bill allows HHS Secretary to issue “ clarifications” and directions. Phase 3 allows for insurance companies sell across state lines
He wants to past it in a hurry so then we can find out what it says and does.
Been there done that with the other half of the Uniparty and it did not work out so well for the little people.
There is one thing we can be sure of is that congress will have a better plan covering their health insurance costs.
