In a move that will likely provoke further media, and pundit, fury, Attorney General Jeff Sessions has asked all remaining Obama-appointed U.S. Attorneys for their resignation.
Sarah Isgur Flores, Director of Public Affairs at the Department of Justice, released the following statement:
"As was the case in prior transitions, many of the United States Attorneys nominated by the previous administration already have left the Department of Justice. The Attorney General has now asked the remaining 46 presidentially appointed U.S. Attorneys to tender their resignations in order to ensure a uniform transition. Until the new U.S. Attorneys are confirmed, the dedicated career prosecutors in our U.S. Attorney's Offices will continue the great work of the Department in investigating, prosecuting, and deterring the most violent offenders."

Intellectually, Sessions is with Trump. However, as far as changing ideas into action, he, like most republicans have become too cautious and too locked into being on defense.
I still hope Trump finds some reason to bring Chris Christie onto the Atty Gen. Team. There may be some way he can still serve or offer counsel. Send Chris onto the Sunday shows once he is brought up to speed. In terms of on the air readiness, he can’t do any worse than Dr. Ben Carson.
If they do not resign then feed them to the critters in the swamp!

My guess is they’ll make a “statement” by refusing to do so for the first time in U.S. History, and Trump will have to fire them.
very cool!
Finally!! Good riddance. Now he needs to clean out the Washington DOJ from top to bottom of the sewage that the Obama administration left there. And lastly appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the single most corrupt individual in the Obama administration - Eric Holder and Fast and Furious and his relation to the IRS scandal and his refusal to enforce Federal law and coverup in Clinton e mail investigation etc., etc.
Replace the ones in Arizona and Nevada first. Tomorrow will be satisfactory.
About time. That should have been done on Day One. Sessions is probably just beginning to understand that you can’t be nice to these people.
Bravo!
YES, the Axe is swinging on the DeepStaters. More more more more...
Put them on the no fly, I say.
1% drained. 99% to go.
You are not very well informed. The Dems are scared sh*tless about Sessions and want to get rid of him any way they can. We are finally going to have an AG who will enforce the law, especially those on immigration. This happened today:
WOOOHOOOOO
Very good sign from Mr. Sessions. There a lot of current (bad) prosecutions that need to end, and a bunch more (against criminal Democrats) that need to begin.
Does anyone remember when the media had a hissy fit about George W. Bush firing US Attorneys mid-term?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dismissal_of_U.S._attorneys_controversy
So about 1/2 had already resigned and now the rest, who couldn’t take a hint, are fired.
Good.
Totally false. Sessions have been very aggressive and will become more so as he gets his full team onboard.
In a move that will likely provoke further media, and pundit, fury,
This is ALWAYS the case with a new administration. The U.S. Attorney is a patronage position and changes when the administration changes.
Good points. I stand corrected. I was just put off by the recusal.
