Paul Ryan Replaces Obamacare’s Insurance Penalties with Even Larger Penalties
Brietbart ^ | 3-9-17 | Sean Moran

Paul Ryan’s Obamacare-lite plan will replace Obamacare’s health mandate penalty with an even larger penalty. Avalere Health reports that the Ryan plan’s insurance penalty eclipses Obamacare’s penalty. Paul Ryan’s Obamacare-lite plan will replace the individual mandate penalty with a premium surcharge for failing to maintain health insurance coverage over 63 days. Individuals without insurance face a 30 percent surcharge of their monthly premium. The penalty will fill the coffers of the insurance companies instead of the government. Obamacare imposes penalties for those who go without insurance for more than three months. The IRS imposes penalties based on income, and the length at which an individual went without insurance. Health insurance premiums adjust based on age, meaning that Ryan’s health penalties would be cheaper for younger Americans, and more expensive for older Americans. The Ryan plan’s penalty is not tied to income, unlike Obamacare, making penalties proportionately higher for low-income Americans.

Maybe so. But I'll give Ryan some leeway on that one because it may be that the financial provisions of ObamaCare are easier to address in a new bill than actual changes in the core of the law.

As it stands now, some of us learned that best way to deal with ObamaCare was to figure out a way to legally check the "Exempt" box on the stupid ObamaCare form.

Voila! -- ObamaCare just gets added to a growing list of things in the "My give a sh!t is broken" category.

He also said he’d rescind DACA day one. That hasn’t happened either. This is the reason I don’t get excited about any candidate. No faith for any of them. That way I’m never disappointed. We can always go back to the mantra of.......well, he’s better than Hillary.

The dem-rino Congessional leader shows all the of the conservatives and Christian republicans that he is a sneaky and lying fool and sold out to the special interests that reward and manipulate his standing as a Congressional leader. All those pubs who demand to pass the Ryan care plan need to be put out of Congress along with all the democrats who sold out long ago to the communist run leftist demoRAT party of liars and thieves.
I hope that President Trump realizes that the rinos are not for America and are aligne with the evil leftist global socialists, I pray the Lord Jesus Christ help and guide President Trump and give patriotic American leaders and peoples wisdom to discern just how evil the system is indeed.

It’s not. I think he trusts Ryan. That’s his big mistake. Ryan is a traitor to this country working for Obama.

Individuals without insurance face a 30 percent surcharge of their monthly premium.

As written this makes no sense. People without insurance don't pay any premium or surcharge. One good thing about the plan is it eliminates the individual mandate which is unconstitutional notwithstanding John Roberts. You can self insure if you want with no penalties.

Ryan’s plan? It is becoming Trump’s plan and he will own it for better or worse.

Ryan is uniparty and i have said that for a very long time.

He is one of many that needs to be wiped out in the uniparty ruling class.

I can’t believe that the GOP and Trump are putting a penalty into law to pay 30% more to a private company. They are crazy, this is typical govt, watching out for big insurance and screw the American worker. I am really disappointed in Trump on this one.

Exactly. Trump is very much in danger of completely losing to coalition that elected him. After that great speech last week we have gotten screwed. Mnuchin wants to increase the debt ceiling, Trump wants the GOP 0bamaRyanCare plan to pass and now we are learning that lousy plan has higher penalties again.

If Trump goes along with this, his voters are gone for good. His already low approval ratings will drop below 10%.

He better reverse course now and fight for what he campaigned on.

We have to be careful here because what you say is what Paul Ryan and the Uniparty might be after is to alienate Trump's supporters with such a terrible health care bill.

Let's just hope Trump doesn't fall in to this trap or the Uniparty gets what it wants and then some.

This has crossed my mind as well. Trump can’t be this naïve, can he?

As I said, I hope he and Bannon have some grand strategy here. Maybe they’re trying to show that Ryan cannot be trusted? I can dream can’t I?

Trump would really risk losing his base and credibility for Paul Ryan? Something is not adding up here...

“Trump was the last stand”

Indeed he was. Wavering on the MAGA platform is not good. The GOP idiots were not really into it anyway. Not destroying O-care completely is insane.

He needs to be kicked out of Congress, the Republican Party, His home state, his home district, his home, his church, and the country......................

I agree very much. My former House Rep, Huelskamp, was one of the ones who tried to get the House leadership out of the hands of the establishment or the Uniparty.

The Uniparty spent a ton of money and our local liberal media bashed Huelskamp, non-stop, and they were able to get rid of one of the good guys. It's really sad how they pulled the wool over the eyes of the people of Kansas. People need to wake up on just how despicable the RINO's and the Uniparty really is.

A negative characteristic of “pre-existing” conditions is that people wait until they are sick before they sign up for insurance, a predictable strategy under Obamacare.

How do you discourage that kind of behavior?
