Dear GOP Congress: Do NOT betray us! Repeal ObamaCare NOW!!

Posted on 03/07/2017 4:29:59 PM PST by Jim Robinson

We voted you in, gave you the majority in the House, the majority in Senate, delivered the presidency and soon the judiciary. You have been given a mandate to repeal ObamaCare in every election cycle since 2010. Do your job! Do not betray us!

No more excuses!

Screw the democrats and their unconstitutional socialist entitlement schemes! We did not vote you in to deliver ObamaCare-lite! Repeal every word of this unconstitutional boondoggle!! No more government entitlements!!

The constitution clearly reserves health care to the states and the people. Feds stay OUT!!

Do the job you were elected to do! Repeal ObamaCare NOW or get the hell OUT!!

OR...................

Get rid of all the exemptions and make everyone part of it. That would bring them to the line.

They can’t repeal the whole thing. That’s just the facts.

The facts are these, Mitch can break the filibuster and repeal this tin, he won't have another chance. This Ryan-McConnel bill will likely cost us the Senate in two years.

If the Uniparty had any real plan to defeat ObamaCare why would they fund it 100% since it passed and even worse they refused to force the President to obey they law and move the bill forward allowing him to postpone the pain of this monstrosity until he left office.

Millions love Trump but several million voted for Trump because they couldn't believe a word the UniParty said. If they start to feel they can't believe Trump, they will drop him like a hot rock. Then where will we be?

We have some downers on these threads because we don't want him to fail, he is someone that genuinely loves this country and the people, but we feel some of his closest advisors don't share our values, hopes and dreams for our Republic.

Right -- I forgot about the whole Senate amendment bill that was ultimately passed by the House. The Senate couldn't vote on the bill again because Kennedy had kicked off and Scott Brown took his place as the 41st GOP senator that would have upheld the filibuster.

It may all be academic anyway, since I suspect an ObamaCare repeal/replacement bill may have some support among very vulnerable Democrats in states that Trump won.

And I have to be honest with everyone. After the ‘effing disaster I had last year dealing with ObamaCare restrictions when buying my own medical insurance, I decided to screw it all and got an ObamaCare exemption anyway. I’m really taking a stand here on principle, because personally I really don’t give a flying sh!t what Congress does to “fix health care” anymore.

Watching the Health and Human Sevices guy,

They don’t understand. GET RID OF THE ENTIRE PARADIGM OF FEDERAL HEALTH INSURANCE. He wants to go through every one of the thousands of Obamacare rules and decide which ones help or not.

WHUUT??

Dump the rules into the Potomac!!!

how will that hypothetically effect FR’s official position (if there is on) on President Trump?

Not one iota. There is some grousing now but it is not directed at Trump, but the GOPe and their henchmen in the UniParty. No true Freeper, not even Cruzers will abandon Trump over this.

First of all GOP, what does the word “repeal” mean? Duh, I can’t figure that out or:

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.”
“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”
“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master – – that’s all.”

Repeal, cancel all of ACA, or you are a bunch of liars; oh DC specialty.
Pass a new law, if you must, to enhance USAians health care availability. You may even use some pre-written sections of ACA. However, if you include the term “dhimmitude” which ACA does, then I will know where I live; not is Kansas anymore...

A very few federal regulations for the health insurance industry is all we need.

1. All insurance policies can be sold in all 50 states
2. Every company needs to offer, among whatever else they want to offer, at least one low cost catastrophic plan.
3. Every company needs to offer at least one high cost pre-existing plan.

The Feds can offer start up funding to states encouraging CHARITIES to run free and low cost clinics in their state.
>

Please define ‘low cost’. Define ‘high cost’. Define ‘catastrophic’. Problem is, if it’s not defined to the molecule, some damn lawyer/judge is going to open it up for ya.

As per the last: it’s JUST as illegal/unconstitutional as any other proposition\law. Get the F* out of the way and out of our lives\wallets\work-place and the Free Market\charity will come.

Nothing ‘bout the doctor shortage, HSA accounts, tax deduct-ability (never down to $0%) or the like. Nothing *ever* from govt comes w/o conditions and ever-present camel nose.

I’m a pragmatic man. I don’t see how you can repeal such a huge system overnight and replace immediately with something brand new. It’s a monster and it’s going to need meticulous dismantling a bit at a time in order to protect all people. I think Tom Price’s 3-phase plan will prove to be the correct tack to take.

I have a huge problem with the repeal conservatives. They want a 2 to 3 year delay before the repeal takes effect. I heard 2 years again on TV yesterday. This is a January article from hot air.

http://hotair.com/archives/2016/12/06/house-freedom-caucus-might-block-three-year-repeal-and-delay-plan-for-obamacare/

**[D]uring a retreat in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains over the weekend, Freedom Caucus members fumed at [the three-year] idea. Most said they wouldn’t settle for anything longer than a two-year replacement process, the time frame both chambers approved last year in an Affordable Care Act repeal bill that President Barack Obama vetoed.***

It is simple for me. Any repeal that is delayed or is only partially and kept on hold for 2 years means everything will be put at risk in another election in 2018. People could be so frustrated at continuing with ObamaCare or partial ObamaCare that we'll lose house or senate. Then we'll never get rid of it.

Trump and Price are saying do all we can now and then do more in 2 more phases.

Trump has been right all along great. I'm trusting him and not the 2 year repeal people.

The Dems did not bother with a filibuster that time because they knew Obama would not sign it.

The media cannot be trusted to condense news and issues correctly, neither can most commenters here. You have to go to a primary source, that takes a lot of time. The reason people here are going off half cocked is they are not taking the time, not making the effort to understand the whats and whys of the repeal/replace.
