Coca-Cola serves up gay-friendly ad for all genders, generations

Soft drinks maker Coca-Cola Co has launched a gay-friendly ad featuring a brother and sister vying for the attention of a handsome pool boy in the campaign that has won praise for diversity and inclusion.

"Sibling rivalry never looked more inclusive," Out Magazine said of the commercial that debuted last week. Marketing Week also approved.

The ad, part of the company's global "Taste the Feeling" campaign, features a teenage girl ogling the pool boy from a downstairs window while her brother does the same from upstairs.

The duo race to the refrigerator and try to trip each other in a bid to be the first to give the open-shirted worker an ice-cold Coke as the Italian song "Come Prima" plays in the background.

Despite the siblings' efforts, by the time they reached the pool guy their mother had already given him a Coke.

"It's a human story where Coca-Cola plays a key role in the development of the drama," said Ali Brubaker, senior manager of global brand PR for the company.

"We are managing culturally relevant messages organically within our spots not as the main subject of the story but as sub-text."

I saw an TV Commercial the other day for the Key West Visitors Bureau.

Started with an Gay Rights Rainbow Flag unfurling and went downhill from there. Looked like there are no Heterosexuals there.

Guessing they failed to learn the lesson from Penney’s and Target.

Looks as if suicide is contagious.

My wife doesn’t like diet sodas and I was trying to find a cheaper alternative to Diet Coke.

We found the Diet Dr. Thunder from Wal-Mart (their private label). Both of us like it, it tastes very good for a diet soda and is 60% cheaper all the time.

Occasionally I’ll have a Coke or Diet Coke, but I’m finding I’m not missing it much.

Adding coke to the boycott list.

Mexican Coca-Cola is probably the best cola you can get. Made with real sugar and you can tell the difference. I restrict my cola consumption. Another thing to look for is, a store that sells Mexican Coke probably also sells Mexican Sprite. If you want a soft drink that isn’t a cola and it is made with sugar, the Mexican Sprite is also very good.

I may have to check to see if one of those retro candy companies still make them. I believe they came in root beer, grape and cola flavors.

Of course back then, colas were made with real sugar and came in bottles. You could get a drink and a candy bar for a quarter and the candy bars were bigger then.

I remember the mid ‘70 in Brooklyn drinking a small bottle of coke while my uncles read the Sunday papers on Saturday night :)

Still very cheap but don’t think quite that cheap.

I kicked the soft drink habit many years ago. I’m glad I did..especially now. Corporate America needs to kick the politically correct habit.

You know, how far do we go with the boycotts. Walmart sells BLM shirts online.

EVERY company these days does something we might not like.

Walmart isn’t as brutally blatant as coke but to me BLM is a terrorist organization.

Maybe we just need to live our lives and not torture ourselves over every company’s views.

The left doesn’t really care. The line for Chick Fill A in NYC is blocks and blocks long like nothing i’ve ever seen before!!! :)

I remember them, and they worked!
The root beer ones were my favorite.
We used to put the tablets on out tongues to feel them fizz!
LOL
I think the brand name was “Fizzies”

Good for you. I knew a friend who literally stockpiled cases of Pepsi and whose last line leaving friends would be: “Come on over for a Pepsi.” He finally dropped the line and the habit. He was a mortician, no wonder he had no friends.

Check the board of directors and you may find a faggot or two. Most corporations have them in numbers much higher than the 2% general population.

The lavender mafia takes care of its own.
