And note, I say that as someone who is NOT anti-gay, and probably more "pro" gay than most here, but I still cant stand the moralizing and preaching.
Not surprising. I wouldn’t see this movie if you paid me to. Who wants to see some gross gay movie? And Hollywood could have made a strong choice like the exceptionally well-made Hacksaw Ridge for best picture but they had to go with the PC pro-homosexual movie. Reminds of 1985 or 1986 when the Oscar should have gone to the Harrison Ford drama the Witness but instead went to the gay-themed Kiss of the Spider Woman. That’s Hollywood for you.
It’s just my opinion but I’ve always found that, for the past forty years or so, the best movies don’t win Oscars.
I saw Dallas Buyers Club. I thought MM did a good job. He really looked like he had AIDS. Plus it was a pretty well documented true story.
Moonlight is supposedly true.... but who knows?

I haven't paid to see one of Hollyweirds crap-fests since somewhere around the year 2000...and I was shamed in to that by a daughter whom I love very much and would do anything for...except go see another minute of the Hollyweird crap-fest.

TV’s ‘CW’ network is trying to mainstream the homosexual agenda with their stable of super-hero shows. Then they can’t understand why the ratings are tanking. ‘Supergirl’ is the worst...their shows are constructed around the progressive cause of the week ad infinitum.

10 months later, you’re standing on the podium for your 15 seconds of fame with a list of people to thank, a platform for your cause du jour, and 98% of Americans watching something else that evening, but everyone on the Island of Misfit Toys applauds you. Congrats.

These days there are 57 Varieties of "Gay" whereas for "Black" you have a much narrower spectrum ranging from Idris Elba & Whoopi through Bill Cosby, OJ, Obama and Rachel Dolezal.
Since we aim for Diversity ("Ommmm", "PBUH") these days, the wider the spectrum, the more points!

While that is interesting unto itself it would be nice to also include the cost to produce the film with the gross receipts from moviegoers. It might be interesting to compare the ratio to other films like “Marty” or “Casablanca”.
