In response to the question, “Which type of political system do you think is the most compassionate?”, 58 percent said socialism and 9 percent said communism. Just 33 percent chose capitalism. Sixty-six percent of the poll’s respondents said corporate America “embodies everything that is wrong about America.”

Polls don’t mean a damn thing. Politicos paying for the appearance of agreement. Stop supporting them by clicking on them.
Notice the word "entire," which is not part of the Trump proposal or plan.
This is another example of a poll with an agenda. Regardless, the wall will be built and the public will start to see the results. The Trump administration should embark on a public information campaign showing the current state of the border; testimonies by Border Patrol officers; and exactly how the wall will be used.
A more proper question would have been: Do you support strengthening the physical barriers on the Southern border to stop the flow of drugs, sex traffickers, terrorists, and illegal aliens? Or, do you believe that the Southern border is secure and that no improvements are necessary?
The cycle is hysterically funny. The issues of Obamacare and the wall were plainly in front of the voters in the last election. One candidates liked Obamacare and opposed the wall the other had the opposite view. The media put forth polls that showed Hillary winning bigly.
She lost bigly. Clearly the anti-wall pro-Obamacare position did not win the day. But abracadabra hokuspocus alakazam (and right on cue) here comes the propaganda machine to tell us that no, we all really voted for the exact opposite of what prevailed.
Up is down, down is up and the sky is made of skittles. We have a poll that shows it don’t you know.
Pew has been a mover and pusher of socialist/liberal/elite agendas for many decades - if not from its inception. There is not a single issue Pew will ever come down on he conservative side/point of view.
It is more or less a bell weather for liberal directions and a funding source for many destructive actions taken by the left.
Not "likely voters", "registered voters" or "citizens".

This poll is of adults. Not voters. Not even eligible voters. Not necessarily even Americans.
based on the demographics, this poll really sucks for the RATS. The percentages represent margin of error(whatever that means) RATS oversampled by 11%

I still believe that Americans are a common sense people. We can’t begin to talk about a common sense immigration policy until we secure our border. We have to be able to control who comes into the country first. And deporting violent criminals who are in the country illegally is totally common sense.

Women read the articles, not knowing they were fake, as neuropsychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen gathered quantitative EEG assessments.
The findings supported results of a functional MRI study recently published in Nature Scientific Reports, which showed how challenging a person’s political beliefs could activate the parts of the brain associated with emotion and self-identity.
A self-described liberal woman in our social experiment reported feeling sad after reading a fictional article on illegal immigrants, but revealed stronger irritation and anger when processing a fake story about a jailed climate change researcher. Simultaneous changes in her brain activity were also much greater when processing the climate change story and correlated with a strong emotional response of angst and fear.
A conservative woman demonstrated opposite reactions. For her, the article on illegal immigration elicited changes in brain activity changes that you would see during a physical threat.
The women were not told that the articles were fake until they were seated on stage. What happened next was startling. First, the women understandably, but awkwardly, tried to defend why they believed the false stories, rather than expressing frustration that they had been duped. This natural human tendency was highlighted by one woman’s comment that while the news was fake, it reinforced a truth she felt about our country—so the piece was tolerable.

Another problem is wholly insurmountable.
A large portion of Americans no longer answers polls.
In fact, they do not answer phones at all if they don’t recognise the number and they don’t give any time whatsoever to people with clipboards or tablets acosting people in public places.
Add to that the people who lie to pollsters for any reason from thinking it’s funny to being offended by them, and it becomes clear that a truly representative sample of the general population is no longer willing to participate.
If they build walls by popularity, It would just be a wall for white people.
The poll has spoken.
This is settled science.
