This never was about any Indian rights, the environment or probably oil.

Someone—including the tribal council—should bill those protest groups for environmental cleanup and lost casino revenue.

These losers have a bigger carbon footprint than the pipeline they are protetesting.
Well, perhaps because liberal enviro protesters are special, and authorities bend over backwards to avoid any appearance of violating their civil rights. The same laws which you and I must abide by are suspended for those special liberals protesting in favor of some cause of the day.
The liberals would never understand or appreciate the irony in your statement about the carbon footprint.
Nor will the news media talk about that fact. Liberals and media types tend to minimize or ignore inconvenient truths. In spite of Al Gore saying he speaks inconvenient truths.

First of all, why would Dakota Access want some ratty teepee full of trash and human waste? The builders will use RV's and other temporary housing with proper sanitary sewer and trash disposal means. Secondly, they are correct in the fact that this protest was all about symbolism and never obit helping the environment. If they cared about that they would have not left thousands of truck load of garbage and human waste behind. Pack in, pack out.
