"U.S. Transportation department executive approved grant days before taking job with rail contractor" A top Obama administration executive at the U.S. Department of Transportation approved a $647-million grant for a California rail project in mid-January and less than two weeks later went to work for a Los Angeles-based contractor involved in the project, The Times has learned.
The grant provides a significant part of the money required to install a $2-billion electrical power system on the Bay Areas Caltrain commuter rail system, allowing the rail to retire its diesel locomotives.

Not a smidgen of corruption
Took 4 paragraphs before they mention her name.
The grant was handled by Carolyn Flowers, the acting chief of the Federal Transit Administration. Issue on Jan. 18
Democrats are slime.
$26 million per mile to electrify is way too much.
What pisses me off about these deals is, just as in a drug transaction it takes a buyer and a seller. People like her will always look to whore themselves out, but there has to be a market. Start charging companies to hire people who were former regulators like this and hit them with penalties and fines and many would start to think twice.
It’s become acceptable to be borderline corrupt. We need to change the culture so that governmental corruption, waste, graft, and bribery is tantamount to incest. Which it is - governmental fiscal incest.
And so she gets a cut of the grant
...suweet.../s
“.give a grant and then go work at the place (Aecom) that got the grant...................”
Haul both Flowers and the company into court and charge them with bribery and collusion.
“Its become acceptable to be borderline corrupt.”
There isn’t anything about this that’s borderline. Bribery and Collusion.
In a major blow to a 15-year-long effort to modernize Caltrain, federal transit officials on Friday said they are withholding $647 million the agency was counting on this month to start work on a project to electrify the train line between San Francisco and San Jose. The decision by the Federal Transit Administration comes just weeks after Californias Republicans in Congress asked the Trump administration to block the funds in an effort to halt one of Californias most controversial public works projects: high-speed rail.
In a letter Friday to the board that runs Caltrain, the FTA said it needed additional time to complete review of this significant commitment of Federal resources, and would make a final decision after President Donald Trump releases his budget for the 2018 fiscal year, which starts on Oct. 1.

“There were no scandals during my administration” - BHO
Scratch that!
Give the money back NOW, and everyone goes to jail!
Ya....wtf is that?
Shouldn’t even cost $100,000 per mile.
This is why the USA is in debt.
SEE!!! Crime did pay under Obama.
Rudolph Diesel’s progeny need to sue.
They've froze the funds. I suspect this will be one of many projects on Trump's chopping block.
Without government jobs, or jobs involving government contracts (both of which have race quotas), black unemployment would be more than 90%.
