The Michigan Republican committee member who floated the idea of Kid Rock as a Senate candidate said he has no inside info on whether the musician is interested in running. But another Michigan rocker is threatening to jump into the race.
Ted Nugent, who has become as famous for his conservative politics as for his hits like Cat Scratch Fever told the Daily Caller he would consider running. Though we dodged the toxic blue bullet on November 8 and showed that the real Michigan is bright red, the embarrassing high-crime blue smudges in the state must be fixed and removed ASAP, said the Motor City Madman.
Nugent is one of rocknroll's few vocal conservatives. An avid hunter and gun owner, he is on the board of the National Rifle Association.
But he has also made inflammatory and at times blatantly racist remarks.
He at various points called former President Barack Obama "a subhuman mongrel" and a "piece of s--t" and told him to "suck on my machine gun." At that same concert, he called Hillary Clinton "a worthless bitch."
In 2013, he was a guest of former Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, at Obamas 2013 State of the Union address, as Nugent is largely based in Texas and has a ranch in China Spring.

I’d put Kid Rock up. The Motor City Madman is a little too out there :) I love him, but the Kid would have a better chance.
No. One can replace Peters in 2020, the other can boot Stabenow in 2018.
It’s so simple.
I agree.
Easy solution: Kid Rock as the next Senator from Michigan. Ted Nugent as the next Senator from Texas, replacing John Cornyn.
You’re welcome, America.
I like both.
they should have a week long rock contest to see who gets it
I agree. All Kid Rock has to do it take those damn hats off,
learn to love his bald patch, and then put on regular clothes while he speaks to us. Ted is too used to acting out, improvisational performing really. Due to his popularity, Ted has not needed to learn much about self control or restraint. He thrives off direct confrontation and offensive strategy. Ted seems comfortable being locked into playing the part of “being Ted Nugent”.
K. Rock is a lesser known quantity to most people. He is well known in the Detroit area as a philanthropist, and can create a public persona that fits this new role. K. Rock may have been influenced by seeing his ex-wife Pam Anderson trying to create a more serious role for herself (as with Angelina Jolie) by frequently ‘meeting’ with Julian Assange.
I can just the Nuge’s Senate desk...a little practice amp underneath, a Fred Bear bow slung over the back of his chair and a reloading press and supplies for those slow times, like when almost anyone is speaking...
“Kid Rock”...is nothing but the new Bob Seger.
Neither would be effective, or anything other than distractions, in the Senate.
They’re both far more effective as rock stars.
Not a good idea at all. They both will lose badly to the Democrat.
Michigan is still a pretty blue state.
He also said things I dont think he meant but that will help him.
He said he really hoped that obama would be a good president but he just wasn’t.
I dont think he hoped for something he knew couldn’t be true :)
But that shows an open mind to the mASSes whereas Nugent has called obama a POS. He’s right :) But that could hurt in an election.
Michigan gets two senators. Why can’t they both serve?
Are there no rational Conservatives in Michigan who are interested in running?

I’d like to be Rock for a weekend
The tail scalps he takes here in Nashville when he’s chilling at his Tony West End digs with his McLaren out front are legendary and some fine high grade Nashville trim from Harpeth Hall girls to bored Belle Meade housefraus
