KXAN obtained the latest estimates from the CVB showing 22 groups have expressed concern about the bill. If all were to cancel their convention bookings, the impact would be severe.
Austin would lose an estimated 145,890 total hotel room nights and a total estimated economic impact of $109,683,377 between now and 2021. That equates to 4-5 groups a year. The Austin Convention Center hosts an average 60 big groups annually, a spokesperson told KXAN.

Private businesses can still choose to let men use their women’s facilities open to the public under this bill. The city ordinance took that choice away. Publicly owned sex exclusive areas would require use per the sex on the birth certificate.

There is an easy solution to all this. First, make it easy for someone who has completed sex reassignment surgery, as attested to by the surgeon who did it, to change the sex on their birth certificate. Then make it illegal to use a bathroom not in alignment with your birth certificate.
Austin VB is a gay and lesbian city. I’d be willing to bet these two groups LOVE their bathroom trips where people of their type go.

It’s a shame that Austin is the capital of Texas. It is nothing like the real Texas. It is populated by UT drop outs who never went home, brainwashed Leftists, over 100,999 illegal aliens (many of whom are criminals), social service leeches, and wall-to-wall lobbying groups. Every Austin TV station is Leftist. The failing newspaper is no exception. One radio station broadcasts Rush for 3 hous a day, the only conservative opinion available in this part of Cetral Texas. Yet every county surrounding Austin’s Travis Co. went for Pres. Trump.
So sell the Austin convention center and spend the proceeds on things like property tax relief, vouchers to attend good private schools, abstinence education, or marksmendhip training conducted by the NRA.
