Hot on the heels of retailers who have halted sales of Ivanka Trump's clothing line in protest against Trump (and free marketing buzz), the tech "resistance" against Trump got its lead from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckeberg who on Thursday posted a lengthy note "rebuking isolationist America First sentiment, and touting the merits of globalization and a global community working for innovation and progress."
In short, the CEO of the "social network", whose business model is predicated upon uninhibited globalization allowing advertisers to reach into every corner of the world with 3 second video clips, is calling for a global government. Not all that surprising.

Someone needs to slap this hypocrite silly.
break up his monopoly.....
Hey Mark, give up your US citizenship and shove off.
Far better men risked everything that we might chart our own destiny. This sort of talk should never go unchallenged.
Ask congress and your legislature for a one-click exit from Facebook and other social media.
Lockdown privacy.
Call it the Freedom from Social Media or something like that.
Require Facebook to pay ME a royalty for every time they distribute “my” profile to another company.
We are all different. Forced collectivization of the earth is the ultimate tyranny—the ultimate evil. Never, never let a suggestion that it is idealistic, go unchallenged.
Good, let people see who the liberals and globalist are and what their final goal is.
How many Cuban refugees did Mark take in?
I reject F**kerberg.
Maybe its a false dichotomy. I believe in “globalism” to an extent, its just that in the form _I_ believe in, we put America and Americans first. I believe a stronger and more prosperous America benefits the entire world.
This Globalist crap currently has most of the world in total chaos. Only idiots and enemies continue to push the idea.
At the World Economic Forum, China has stepped up to help “save” globalism - that should give any one with a brain reason to oppose it.
Would someone please come up with a viable alternative to Facebook? I loathe these petty little dictator wannabes that have as much control as he does with this product!

I’m in the same boat as you ... I am sick of Facebook, but I do like having a one-stop place for various things Facebook offers (friends and family, groups of people sharing the same hobby, trolling liberals :-) ).
I flat out hate the douchebag running the show though. I’m sure he’s not stupid, but Facebook isn’t exactly a technical marvel. It was simply a right place / right time kind of website. It’s not my intent to trivialize that company’s accomplishments, but it’s not something I’d deem “impressive” like YouTube was right off the bat (servers handling all of that video w. zero downtime and seemingly brilliant scalability is an impressive feat ... )
I think he has pretty much self-identified as an unAmerican enemy within.
Reddit? Freerepublic? But building a better poduct for facebooks niche would not be enough. The value of facebook resides in most people being on facebook already. A direct competitor would have to get a siazable number of people to switch over before its worth it to switch over.
Facebook is an information-gathering spy app. Welcomed by gullible, video- and gossip-enthralled sheeple.
Its collected tones of facial recognition data, location data, lifestyle data, religious data, associate data, political data, ethnic data, sexual data...from stupid people willingly opening their lives to it. For free. For giggles. For silly games. For look at me kicks.
Like most arguments, the problem is mostly in the definitions.
If globalism means exchanges of goods services and even people among all the world’s countries based on rules decided by each country, then there is no inconsistency between nationalism and globalism. That’s been the world order since the treaty of Westphalia.
If globalism instead means one world central government then the very concept of nationhood and national self determination disappears.
We as humans have not reached the point where we can set up a single optimal government that works best for everyone. So nations, like states in the US, serve as “government laboratories” where different approaches are tried, and thus slowly evolving to better governments.
I can’t think of anything worse than setting a central world government at our stage of human development.
A global community means that producers have most of their money taken and given to the indolent. That would include zuck.
