Can we please move the deluge of Catholic-related articles out of news/activism?

This morning, as has been the case for weeks now, over half of the articles have been about Catholic church inside baseball. While I'm sure that is of interest to some, it merely squeezes out stuff that is more interesting to others. While I appreciate the importance of the topics to a few, let's keep in mind that it is not at all to others. I don't want to start a flame war but the nuances of some Latin-named paper by some unknown cardinal in a village in Germany (just a hyperbolic example) are wholly unimportant to this good old Protestant. There is a specific forum for discussion of religion.

What are Communion rules? And, no, the Pope can’t change the fundamental truths of the Catholic Church, try as he might.

That being said, these articles do not belong in news. So I agree with the original poster.

FR was declared an emotional Safe Space for Catholics quite a while ago.

That said, I have not noted that the long-winded preaching to the choir was being posted in News. Have a bunch of Catholic threads just been moved? They seem not be in evidence in News just now.

What deluge?? I’m on here multiple times a day, am Catholic, and don’t perceive that there is any increase at all. Yet “fishtanks” creation science garbage is in “News/Activism” constantly.

And FR is nice enough to give you a religion forum. But no, a Bible quote is not a proper response on a news thread.

I’ve been here since 1998 and it seems this past couple years - and increasing lately - that they have overtaken the site at times.

How about totally off FR?
And in addition, the toxic threads where Protestants and Catholics bash each other are sickening. And wicked.

Just one more thread about the Grand Poobah Mix-Master Malted Milk Maker being fired by the Pope? Please?

Pope: Resign!

Grand Poobah Mix-Master Malted Milk Maker: Okay.

Blogger: Scandal! Bombshell! (Clickbait!) Latin words!

Completely toxic and detrimental to conservatism. Conservative leaning people shouldn't be tearing each other apart over religious minutia.

Indeed. That scroll wheel is pretty cool. I use it almost as much as I use that BACKSPACE key.

"But no, a Bible quote is not a proper response on a news thread."

Why?? The Bible can be quoted for many purposes, including humor, and contains a LOT of down-to-earth human wisdom.

“Well good for you. You’re not the only person on the forum.”

True. I can also scroll past articles I don’t wish to read with my cheap cell phone. I certain I am not the only person on the forum who’s able to do this easily.

“Conservative leaning people shouldn’t be tearing each other apart over religious minutia. “

I would add Christ followers to that as well.
Its an affront to Him for that to happen.
